Product: GRID Legends
Platform:Steam-PC
Summarize your bug Cars slow down like 50-80% braking power without touching a key.
Please specify your platform model. Steam
Did you have cross-play enabled? No
In what game mode did the bug occur? Offline Career
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Start any race Release both the throttle and brake while moving at speed Car brakes on its own to a stop This occurs no matter the difficulty or amount of driving assist selected.
What happens when the bug occurs? Currently the cars slow down so hard WITHOUT pressing the brake that it is throwing off the balance of the car. This is made a lot worse in FWD cars. There currently is no way to coast. Some turns just need you to stop accelerating even momentarily to get threw the corner. Instead the car brakes and totally throws the car off balance in the turn, because you weren't planning to brake. Also braking naturally makes it more difficulty to turn, which is sometimes wanted and sometimes not.
What do you expect to see? The car should coast and very slowly decelerate. If going up/down a hill its rate of deceleration should be properly affected by gravity. The car should VERY gradually slow down due to expected friction and the engine. This should feel like ~5% of the cars braking potential.
Have you guys never driven a car before? Its almost like you never made a racing game before or are absolute fresh devs! Like maybe this should be apart of the ABS driving assist, at level 4 and 5. But completely off! Stop braking my car for me damit!

I had this too.
What i noticed is that it started sometimes after i changed my difficulty options, driving assists.
I turned off traction control, abs and stability control.
I fixed it by resetting that assists page, ticked restore default settings and then turned down those options again but not all the way off.- 4 years ago
@miazbaker This is a separate issue. This does not resolve the issue for the rest of us.

Same issue here on XSX. I have tried with controller and thrustmaster wheel and both are the same. I made a video to show a comparison with Grid 2019.
Both with same settings, same car, both releasing throttle at approximately 100mph. Grid 2019 is exactly as expected, coasts for a long distance and gradually reduces speed then still ticks over at a few mph in first gear. Grid Legends comes to a complete stop in just a short distance.

Tried a race and releasing the throttle didn’t result in braking! It coasted as it should. Thanks for the fix, hopefully the upcoming update helps fix it for those still having the issue.

Codemasters Team
Thanks for the suggestion @miazbaker! I will share this in the other thread.
In addition, we should be fixing this from our end with the next patch. Details about that can be found here: Solved: Re: Grid Legends XSX Trial - crazy engine braking - Answer HQ (ea.com)
