Changing Controller Resets Career/Sponsor Progress

Did you have cross-play enabled? Yes
In what game mode did the bug occur? Offline Career
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play with wheel > Turn off game > Play with controller > Watch all progress being reset
What happens when the bug occurs? All sponsor progress wiped (even those that have been fully completed). % progress in career wiped (but the trophies for races you've won stayed). Story mode checkmarks wiped (but trophies stay).
What do you expect to see? Bug fixed and lost progress reinstated

I just found a bug that resets your progress if you switch between wheel/controller.

  • All sponsor progress wiped (even those that have been fully completed).
  • % progress in career wiped (but the trophies for races you've won stayed).
  • Story mode progress seems unaffected (the objective checkmarks are wiped, but trophies stay and you can replay any event).
  • Car upgrades, mechanic perks and team banners/logos unaffected.

Please fix ASAP. There are lots of people reporting similar progression bugs and no concrete response has been offered so far (some even as far back as April). What the hell are you guys doing? Not going to play this game until then. What's the point of spending time only to be wasted by something innocuous as changing a controller?

    @GTP_Legend-One Hey! We need some more info on this, can you let us know what wheel you're using and whether this has been happening since the Rise of Ravenwest DLC? Thanks!

    It happened once before the Ravenwest update. I was using Logitech G29 and switched to PS4 controller.

    I did not try changing controller again since then out of fear of it happening again. Someone in your team should test it out instead of asking players to be beta testers.

    I didn't ask you to try it again, just how many times it's happened and what peripherals you were using. 

    We haven't seen it in our testing since the Rise of Ravenwest update where we made several Career Progress fixes, but I'll let you know if that specific combination causes a reset.

    @GTP_Legend-One Following on from some additional testing today using the same peripherals, we were not able to reproduce. I'd suggest giving it a go for yourself now that the recent update has gone live

    Noted thanks. I'm still a bit unconvinced because I just came across more progression bugs (e.g. career events not unlocking despite completing X championship or unlocking stage 2 car upgrades). This is after the Ravenwest update. I'm close to unlocking the Gauntlet requirements so if the bug is still not fixed I'm SOL. The game plays just fine with controller so I'll stay with that for now.
