Event and sponsor locked after update

So it turns out that race became available after unlocking Stage 3 of car upgrades. I have the same situation with event "Fully Upgraded Lightweights". Before patch 2.0 it was working correctly just like race requirement said - Stage 2 was all you needed. This is ridiculous, no way I'm grinding milage for each car just to unlock an event, it was already too much to grind out stage 2. Please fix this.

I'm also angry about it, because I'm near the end of the game (I'm on the last stage before Gauntlet), where you need to finish all races including these for upgraded cars and everything before was fine, that you need to gain stage 2, which includes sometimes too much grind to unlock upgraded race (I finished all races, but sometimes you need to drive another 40 kilometers to unlock upgraded race, which can be boring after 2-3 times).

If you don't want to repeat the same cup or the same races many times, you can make your own race on Indianapolis oval, which is the shortest & fastest track in the game, choose the class you need to gain mileage and how many laps you need to drive. It helped me a lot during my gameplay and also pick your music playlist, because the soundtrack is kinda repetitive and annoying.

Thanks for a information about it, it helped me a lot with my game, because it calmed me that it's not my fault, but game's fault 🙂 Also it showed me that last Wednesday's update made game worse than before the update.

It gets even worse, this bug has just gone from a nuisance to game breaking. You actually can't progress to the final Gauntlet of the Career mode without completing Avax sponsor goals! You can't unlock Renault R26 in your garage without completing Avax race, therefore you can't upgrade R26, therefore you can't finish last race of Open Wheel Racing in Pro category, therefore you can't unlock The Gauntlet. This is a major problem Codemasters, please fix these progression breaking bugs. The way it is now, we can't finish a career. Please give us some feedback on this.

I agree with you, that this is a problem when the game doesn't allow you to finish it by normal way. What's interesting I finished it on Saturday, and the Avax race for me normally unlocked without any problems, but I need to make tricks to finish it like making own races with ramps and repeating drift races many times.

A few topics later, someone wrote about problems with unlocking two trophies (I played so much GT1 and Passione Rossa) on PS5 after latest update and unfortunately that's true, because I gained access to Tier 3 upgrade in each launch car in GT1 class and the "I played so much GT1" trophy should pop, but it won't pop.

I would like to make an platinum trophy, because I gained near all trophies (47 of 50) and these two bugged and Content Tracker Redux are only missing to unlock a platinum trophy.

So it has been two weeks of no replies, no updates and no fixes for these progression breaking issues. Career mode is basically unplayable at the moment as you can't finish it. Just by looking at these forums you can see I'm one of many people affected by it. We paid for this game and the least we can expect is for all its modes to be playable. I think we are owed a refund or immediate fix for these issues. I'm so frustrated by it, GRID Legends was one of my most awaited games of the year, I was a loyal fan of Codemasters for years. To get screwed by them now is very disappointing and frustrating. A week ago I asked about these issues during Codemasters Community livestream and they promisted to "look into these issues". Yeah, see how that turned out.

Since nobody listens here,I'm heading to the steam forums to make sure nobody else buys without knowing how broken this game really is and how ea is showing total  lack of respect to customers(no  big surprise).You mark my words,next patch will be DLC.

It has been three weeks since patch 2.0 broke the game and introduced career bugs on all platforms. We had no feedback on these forums and seeing that all of the sudden base price for Season Pass has been lowered it seems that GRID Legends is being abandoned and no substantial updates will happen. We'll probably see a few undercooked DLCs to justify the Season Pass, but don't expect anything worthwhile. I'm uninstalling and will be warning everyone in the racing community to steer clear of this buggy mess. Dont give money to these hacks.

i have the problem that i can't complete Distort Sponsor Contract cause the challange "beat rick scott in carreer open wheel races" can't be completed  Avax sponsor locked  even completed challanges are shown in the dashboard with 0/3 even if they are completed   gauntlet can't be unlocked cause you can only complete 8 /10  on pro with avax being locked,,, grid challanges even if you complete them are shown with gold  but some of them are reset and shown as "unfinished" with the % bar   so yeah i'm completely stuck now... hope they will fix it somehow
