PS5 free upgrade

Hi I have the PS4 disk version arrived today, it’s not letting me upgrade it to the PS5 version? It says on the box free PS5 upgrade?

I have the same problem for this.

I am the PS5 user,but cannot upgrade to PS5 version.....

    It could be a Sony issue as they have started charging for PS4-PS5 physical copy upgrades. We were informed about this happening in December but it came into force in January 2022.

    this is something completely opposite to Microsoft who don’t charge for smart delivery option's.
