When I completed that challenge I actually deliberated clipped the tree on the right to keep all drives on the first section of fairway rather than trying to use shot shaping to get it round the corner, so all comfortably short of 300 yards and I got all three stars (on PS5). Stupidly that challenge starts with a 2 Wood approach shot for me which won't complete the challenge as you have to use the driver.
If someone is able to record and share a video of this challenge not working I'll flag this as right now this thread is marked as solved and honestly it's not been clear there really is an issue. Please do state what platform you're on too as it may be important (as I'm definitely not having this issue on PS5).
There definitely is a problem. Just tried this challenge several times. Can’t get the 3 long drives. I can easily get 1 by hitting over 100% pwr but then for some reason it won’t let me get more. I also am hitting it dead center of fairway. This is the second time I’ve tried this challenge because I tried it a few months ago and got so frustrated I quit. Not sure why it’s doing this.
Ensure you have a fast swing. If your swing speed is slow no matter if it’s the correct distance and in the fairway, it won’t count.
I don't know on what you're playing but with my PS5 controller, I just have to pull an overswing and then just push the thumb stick and let it go right away and it's a long drive. If I push the thumb stick right to the end, it's a slow most of the time.
