About the (Potential) Upcoming Update Before the Masters
We're quickly approaching the season's first major, which also means we are coming to the 1st Birthday of this game (🥳). It also means the end of the current Pro Pass season in EA Sports PGA Tour, and the anticipation of a potential new update in the next two weeks.
Unfortunately, there's been very little information, conversation, or discussion from the devs or EA about future plans, which is concerning since this is a "live service" type of game. We've had no new Challenges from any of the 2024 PGA Tour season events, there's been an ongoing issue with tournament scores being erased or not showing up, etc. In short, for many, the next update that would be released before The Masters is a potential do-or-die for the future of this game, since the feeling around it is that it's already on life support.
In my eyes, we'd need at least a solid patch to fix on-going, remaining issues, plus something new and fresh like the Augusta National Par-3 Course - with Challenges related to past Par-3 Contests at The Masters. I am sure we'll get a new Pro Pass, since that could make EA more money.
I'd also like to see a roadmap of future adds/updates (if there are any), like confirming if the 2024 major host courses are on their way.
This may fall on deaf ears and will likely have zero impact on anything, but I figured I'd put out some thoughts on what the next update needs to give this thing some more legs for the foreseeable future.
