ADVANCED SHOT MAKING CHALLENGES

PS5 system

Challenges / Coaching Academy / PGA Coaching / Advanced shot-making challenges:

I completed ALL preceding challenges and know exactly what advanced GIR's and FIR's are.  I tried to complete the PAR-3's and PAR-5's challenges but cannot get the advanced GIR's to "clear" after actually meeting all the requirements.  I recorded the PAR-3's challenge twice where I finished it to the specified requirement.  I completed the PAR-5's to the prescribed requirement but it would also not provide the advanced GIR's STAR to complete the challenge.

All preceding challenges went without any problems.  The PAR-4's went like a hot knife through butter.

Can anyone add some light on this please?  I didn't report it as a BUG yet.

    @Ultrasonic_77 Thanks for trying to assist. However, as mentioned previously, I did it all in previous challenges as well as the PAR-4's challenge between the 3's and 5's. I fully understand the requirements and complied with it during execution and outcome.

    The stars are not rewarded. Video recording done on console. I have no idea how to share it here.

    On your Approach shot try making multiple adjustments. I got my GIR star by hitting a knockdown draw.

    @DCHesselIf you share a video it should be easy to see if you've done it right or it's a bug. Provided you've applied the required shot shaping with the left stick* and then got the ball to finish where it should you should get the star I believe. I'm working through the challenges but haven't quite got to these yet myself. The only other thing to explore would be if it makes a difference if you have the shot shaping option on or off. Possibly you have to do these with the angled thumb stick path...

    *Edit, assuming swinging with right stick.

    It's easiest to share a video from PS5 to a linked YouTube account and then post the link here. I play on PS5 and this is what I do.

    I've just tried the first of these challenges and stars are being awarded OK, with shot shaping on or off. I'm playing as a right handed golfer and drawing them if it matters. I got one star with shot shaping on and then turned it off and got three.

    I'm currently undecided if I'm likely to be able to learn to hit these properly with shot shaping on...

    Just checked back and see it's two other specific challenges you meant. I'll have a try later. My guess is you need to apply some shot shaping on the shot that puts the ball on the green for an advanced GIR but I guess that's what you've done...

    I was about to share a video to demonstrate I'd had the same issue but just checking the video back before sharing I spotted where I'd gone wrong. I did the par 3 challenge, birdied the first hole and parred the next two, and thought I'd used the high shot shaping on all tee shots. However on one I'd set the shaping to high but then changed the club, and this reset the shot shaping to straight. Any chance you may have done something similar @DCHessel ?

    How did you do the Advanced driving wind coz I just hit the fairways 5 times and got no stars WTF!!!!!🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

    Did you use shot shaping?

    @Ultrasonic_77 LOL ... Will not remember as I do many of those daily.

    Firstly, I redid my PAR-3's and 4's and received my stars. Will check the videos again as it does not make sense. Resolved -I am happy.

    Secondly - Advanced driving. Will have to go back and check. What I do know is many of these I could not do until I upgraded SKILLS to get more power and associated shot types. Typical for these over 300 yds, etc.

    I'm having a similar problem, only my issue is with the par 4s and par 5s. I've done advanced shots on all 3 holes, trying fade, draw, low and high on each one and I still can't get the star. I've tried with shot shaping turned on and off and still no luck. Additionally, I went birdie, par, par on the par 5s and didn't get the "par or better all three holes" star. Smells like a bug to me.
