AI Difficulty Setting Question

According to the description, increasing the setting lowers the AI leaderboard scores and increases overall difficulty, and decreasing the setting the opposite occurs.  If you want the AI to play better and score better it sounds like you should descrease the setting but that does not seem right to me.

In career mode I'm trying to figure out how to make the AI play and score better, but also not increasing or descreasing my ability at the same time, any suggestions on which way the AI setting should be adjusted (increased or decreased) ?
