I never gave 2k23 a fair chance I’ll admit, I had just purchased this game and needed something new and fresh and stuck it out with it, I’m glad I did now cuz at 1st I was not impressed. I never played my 2k21 on the toughest settings but close. I played in a few of the daily tournaments with this game and some of them were crazy tough, no green grid, no lines anywhere lol, even the wind didn’t give a good indication where it was coming from, that was TOUGH, at least for me.
I believe they have different programmers this time around from the Tiger group and some of them might not know enough about golf, I think some do though and they might have to let a few people go here and there and get some new programmers in their places.
They probably thought the game was good enough to roll out but from what I read at launch in the steam forums, there was no chance I was purchasing this game so I waited about 6 months, now there seems to be many more decent, positive, reviews on steam compared to launch so some progress has been made.
I play golf games 90% of the time myself, just something about them that does it for me over any other type of game, I play them even more in the winter 🥶 when it’s cold out ( I’m in Canada ) Nothing like sitting back in my lazy boy and playing a good round of golf ⛳️. Take care and I/WE hope the game improves even more. Thanks a bunch.
Well that would explain alot, I'm in Canada too. To be honest I don't think there have been too many major changes to the gameplay since it's release. Other than the funky physics with putting around the hole.
I hope you take the time to play both games in depth so that you can make an educated decision as to which better suits you.
EA does have a better single player career mode if you can get the difficulty ramped up high enough. I wasn't able to make it difficult enough where you didn't win every tournament.
I’m near Windsor myself, it’s 46 degrees out right now ( no need to play golf 😎 ) Old school with the 46. I can’t see myself purchasing 2k23 again, I’m just more than happy with this game. Maybe by the time I reach your level, that 5 year new release will come out 🫣. I wonder what made more people give the game a good rating on Steam lately? Still plenty of negative ratings as well though. I treat many of the reviews whether at Steam Amazon or any other place with a grain of salt, who knows who’s really writing them, people will go to great lengths for a dollar. Have fun with both games.
