I was playing the daily tour pro tournament and my ball seemed to be spinning more than normal. greens were listed as tournament conditions. I hit a finese shot to a significantly downhill pin and the ball spun back alot. My remaining putt was 1ft downhill for reference. I got a 7i slightly down wind it stopped dead. I had a knockdown 9i slight tail wind spin back a little. 2 4i shots hit the fringe and just died. I'm used to my 4i rolling out 10+ yrds. I didn't change anything stat / spec wise the ball just seemed to react much different than i am used to. In the arcade tournament i didn't notice anything weird. Im wondering if the greens were not really playing as listed for the tour pro one

I know exactly what your are talking about. I know several on here love the finesse shot, but I have had that shot backspin literally 20+ feet at times, randomly. Sometimes it's a massive amount, sometimes it's a little, and other times it sticks. Although the "dispersion zone" on my approach shots is a tad bigger they always drop and stick so I use that a ton.Probably just like you, I adjust my golf game and end up shooting excellent on most courses...but that doesn't mean the game doesn't have issues. My problem has always been you explain an issue and get 20 different reasons why. Seems a bit odd. I can respect the opinions on here, but I believe the game is still very inconsistent. I can still enjoy it, but it needs work.

Might this just be a course difference? I don't think 'tournament' on one course is the same as 'tournament' on another - the idea is that each course plays differently to some degree.

Probably obvious to many but note that how the ball will react when it lands on the green will heavily depend on the wind and the slope of the green.

@Ultrasonic_77 yes i always check slope of green when i hit. my ball landed on a 1ft downslope and spun back about 20ft with a finese shot and slight tail wind. I know it was 1ft downhill because my putt was all downhill. 4i I can chalk up to landing on fringe possibly, but there were a lot of weird acting shots that round.

If I put the cursor under the bull for what they call low. Shouldn't that be backspin and make the ball pop up? And when i put the cursor at the top of the ball, it should line drive out low and skip across the ground with a high forward spin. Am I just drunk right now? Someone help lol.

I've tried that still not noticing any change. I'm thinking I will just stick with tour difficulty where I was told this is not even an option?

Correct, but I don't understand why you're apparently discounting playing arcade and pro modes but simply not using post-shot spin, as I and I bet a lot of others do?
Re. if the buttons are working for you, are you seeing the same lack of effect in both arcade and pro modes? Note that the control skill level on the relevant shot type will alter how large the effect will be.

I don't think the buttons do anything man. Am I supposed to see something on the screen? If its not an option in tour mode, which I believe the competitive online play is. Then I will just stick with that difficulty and not worry about it.

What was the answer to my question about arcade vs pro modes? I was trying to figure out if you may be experiencing a bug in pro mode or a wider issue preventing the post-shot spin option for you - which I guess could be a game or controller configuration issue. If it really seems this isn't working at all then it may be worth logging it as such in the bugs section.
My other point though is that you seem to be viewing it as essential for this feature to work for you to be able to play pro and possibly arcade modes when it really isn't as I never used them. If you want to only play tour mode then great but from the point of view of earning reward points and tickets I think you'll find you're putting yourself at a big disadvantage when you don't need to. I think I recall you posted somewhere you were ranked in the top 150is on pro after all? Surely arcade and pro modes can still be fun without this too?

no point i'm just gonna play tour mode. the game is already dead to me and I have no hopes of that improving. RIP.
