I do more like the slower option in the video myself. I don't lose contact with the stick but do move my thumb back to allow it to return to the centre. I'd just ended up doing this naturally before watching thing video actually which is why I wasn't having the issue some were.

@Ultrasonic_77 For me i am consistently slow at 1.5 or 2.5% I just compensate by overswinging. I discovered i was holding the stick forward which is the main cause of my slow. I am consistent with this so i just roll with it. If i really need extra juice I push forward and immediately let go or even quickly pull the stick back after pushing forward. This usually results in like a .4 or .6% fast. This does not feel comfortable to me and occasionally i will hit a wonky swing.

I'd be inclined to at least experiment with one of the swing styles in the video to see if you find it helps you score better at all.
