I've never tried a head-to-head, private match.

Hi all,

I have created a casual XBox club for the game. I tend to play with assists (I'm not that good sorry) but I LOVE vidya game golfing.

My gamertag on XBox is "Captain Howdy 0" and I would invite any and all of you who like casual play and want to play 9-18 from time to time (Private matches so we can set our own rules, right?) please Friend me and join our club, "Goon Golfing Tournament" so we can party up and chat while playing.

Last night my friend and I never were successful at getting a private match game started. We play all the time in the other game, I set up a private match, search for him, and send him an invite. It still works for us in the other game.

Last night we spent an hour trying to do this, and are going to try again tonight and just play the way it is now (battle royal basically). He can search for me in the PS5 and find me, send an invite, I can do the same for him, we each tried dozens of times, but neither of us ever got an invitation and were not able to start a match.

Really at my wits end trying to figure this out.  Nothing about our privacy settings has been changed, all notifications are on, accept friend requests on, etc.  And as I said we can still easily find each other in the other game.  

PLEASE help with this or I basically have no reason to play this game anymore.  I love it bought we both bought the game and PS5s exclusively so that we could move on from the other game and play each other in private matches, and see each other's shots (turn play).  I understand that EA is aware of the many people upset about no turn play at this time, but can someone PLEASE tell me how we can find each other in a private match lobby?  We are both picking our created characters, is that the issue?  Must one of us pick a pro? 

Help....

FYI we finally got private match working. Turns out with this game, and only this game from the ones I have, requires you to first add a friend to your PS account, outside of the game.

In the other golf game and the other sports games I have, I've never had to do that, you just send the invite from within the game and they see it. Glad we got it figured out. Still stinks we can't see each other's shots though lol. This is better than nothing for now.  Fix turn play please!
