FYI we finally got private match working. Turns out with this game, and only this game from the ones I have, requires you to first add a friend to your PS account, outside of the game.
In the other golf game and the other sports games I have, I've never had to do that, you just send the invite from within the game and they see it. Glad we got it figured out. Still stinks we can't see each other's shots though lol. This is better than nothing for now. Fix turn play please!

Actually you don't need to add your friend to your PS5 account though it is easier. If you set up a room in your PS5 anyone in that room will show up when setting up your private match.
