Now you need to do some deep thinking and ask yourself why, because obviously your whole stance claiming most people wanting to play a more simlike game, is completely wrong.
You will never convince people to change what they want to believe.
EA's Golf games were successful mainly due to two factors. That during this period of time Golf was a very popular and in vogue sport. Like Tennis was in the mid to late seventies.
And the fact EA had the only mainstream Golf game on the market... which I personally didn't like but filled an itch for a lot of people. It helped that it seems to have been a pretty complete package.
The Golf Club a more serious sim experience was released by a small company on a small island in Canada concurrently with EA's 2015 game... and while The Golf Club eventaully became 2K PGA Tour... EA decided to shelve their golf series.
My agrument is that there is a place for both arcade and sim players. What can't seem to hear is that EA didn't create an environment for the SIM players in this game. And that wouldn't have been an issue for me if they didn't advertise it ss having it in the game.
Like it or not, there is no such thing as "sim" golf on a PC or console and there never will be. In fact, you will never see anything remotely close to "sim" in a PC/console golf game.
The harder any developer tries to achieve a "sim" golf game, the worse that game will be.

Maybe... I played a winter at an indoor simulator a few years ago that gave feedback on my swing. It actually improved my game.
As for on a console or pc... I think if it is done well enough and you can immerse yourself. I think it could be a valuable tool in learning to manage your game. Which is hard to do when the ball doesn't react as expected. Even though you are not swinging a club, you can go through the mental exercise of setting up your shot and managing your game.
And just to add, though the mechanics of the swing are not the same, if done right... executing a good swing under pressure can still feel similiar. Something that comes in to play when I golf in 2K23.
