My wife and I created own characters and played locally againts each other in old EA Sports golf games.
The characters we created had their own look, clothing and skills and
these characters could improve their skills by performing tasks.
We could choose where to play and so on.
Is this kind of activity possible in EA Sports PGA Tour 2023?
I have just spent £50 on this game to play my mum, it’s something me and my parents used to do years ago on the older games.
I can’t believe you cannot play custom characters offline multiplayer. It’s the main reason I bought this game.
Also it game starts off with telling you how great it’s accessibility options it has before you’ve even played a round but my mum is arthritis in her hands so would prefer it on easier or to play 3 click but you can’t have one controller set to custom settings which you could in Rory Mcilroy when I’d prefer the swing stick.
Using 2 different controllers has a problem too where the game freezes and you can’t move your golfer or do anything unless you pause the game.
It’s an absolute disgrace the game was released in this state and also the fact I seen several reviews and can’t remember them mentioning it. Generally it was all positive and saying a step forward. I can’t get a refund from Sony as I downloaded the game.
I think the game looks quite good, the presentation is quite nice but I think the swing animation lags going to swing stance and is quite off-putting. Also it’s quite confusing sometimes the camera angle button changes depending on what your doing.
Playing the game on PlayStation 5 with latest patch.
Are there any plans to allow two (or more) created players in local play? I purchased the game with that as an express assumption only to find that I can only select one created player in a local match.
I'd like to see this as well. This is something all golf games used to have. Don't know why it still wouldn't be standard issue in a golf game.
No communication on this despite many posts asking why such basic functionality is broken. Buying an EA Sports game is a risk at best but I liked the Tiger Woods series so much that I gave it a shot. Never again. Going back to 2K.
Please and coach mode back 🙏🏽. That is the only way real fans of the game play...
I like to have family members create their own golfer and it would be very nice to be able to play against them in this game. It would also be great to have the option for created players to be controlled by AI if you want to play against them. It would be nice to play around against my dad, even if he's not around to play in person.
<--- Sees there was a new patch (and subsequent hotfix as the new patch obviously messed something up). Still no change to how couch co-op should work.
<--- Goes back to 2K23 where you can play this way.
I literally have not plugged my xbox in since I first played the game and couldn't do couch play with my friend. I am relying on this thread to notify me if EA finally gets their act together on this one.
