My wife and I created own characters and played locally againts each other in old EA Sports golf games. The characters we created had their own look, clothing and skills and these characters could improve their skills by performing tasks. We could choose where to play and so on. Is this kind of activity possible in EA Sports PGA Tour 2023?

I can't understand why it isn't possible to implement a local offline multiplayer with your own golfer on a console when everything is already there for it. In the announcements you could read that this is possible. Now you can see that it just doesn't work. Unfortunately, I've now spent the money and the game is basically useless to me. I can create multiple golfers under my PSN account and switch between them. That is possible. I can select a game type and add another golfer in a quick game. This works out. But then I can't add another controller or add more from the list of created golfers. That is not possible. That is completely incomprehensible. I played ea golf with my wife on the Playtation 2 for hundreds of hours in local multiplayer, you could even invite a guest with a profile in career mode. We used it extensively and loved it. Now with the Playstation 5 there are countless complex online modes, but a simple couch multiplayer with two controllers is not possible. I was looking forward to a great time with the fantastic graphics for two. It's just wasted money now. Very frustrating.

i want to be able to play local with my wife with her profile. but its not possible, will this be coming to the game? if not i will request a refund

I've just been using the trial, you can create up to four golfers within each xbox profile. However there does not seem to be any way of connecting more than one custom golfer per quick play game (stroke play) the other three players are pre-defined 'pro' players and your other custom golfers do not appear. If you switch profile (xbox) it starts a new instance of the game, which is fine if you want to play on your own or online.So unless I'm missing something - you cannot have local couch mode with individual custom profiles - which is a deal breaker for me, even 2K21 let you play locally with custom players, and what is more disappointing - previous PGA golf games allowed progression with all local custom golfers. I want to play with friends locally as them, not against pre-defined Pro golfers - sorry unless this is resolved I will not be buying this.Not sure if this is because it's a trial - but this does really surprise me that this basic feature is missing, plus the face customisation is incredibly limited, but I could have lived with that to be honest.What's worse is any of the controllers (signed in to different xbox profiles) can control any of the four players (the custom, and the three defined "pro" players) so anyone using a controller can control the player taking the shot - this cannot be right. I must be doing something wrong....or the couch co-op was thrown together and is completely unfinished - in it's current state, this game is suited mainly to online only.

That is a major bust from EA. I like the game so far to be honest, but this kills it. I regularly play with my fiancé and on the other game we could at least make a customized guest character for her to use against my player. On this game if you want to play with your character in an offline round, anyone you play with has to use a Tour Pro. On the TW games you could make multiple created players and use them H2H.

@alwrmcusn Yes it is a great shame that this seemingly basic and expected option for local multiplayer is unavailable in this game. Crossplay being the other head scratching omission. You would think that both features would be on the 'must do' list before releasing a golf game into today's market.

I purchased this game a year ago in order to create avatars for my wife and myself to play together. There are now 11 patches and the option to play using two user created avatars is still absent (or at least I have not found it). I'll assume that the option for that method of play is NOT going to be included in this version even though it was in previous versions and every other golf game that I own. Is this because it is too difficult to code in or is there some other reason. If it is never to be included then I am truly sorry to have spent $70 for an unused game.

This bug exists on xbox too. It has existed since launch. Let me know if you need steps to reproduce, I'm happy to help.

Summarize your bug Created local Guest players disappears when trying to select players for a local game.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Create a number of local players. One for you and one for each of your friends how are joining in. Start a local friendly stroke game. Select player for the game. --> all your friends players are gone and cannot be selected.
What happens when the bug occurs? Well nothing. You turn of the game. Disappointed once again that this is still not fixed after all this time.
What do you expect to see? I expect that the Guest players I create are available when selecting "add Guest player".

There is a massive thread on this issue in the forum. It's been an issue from day 1.

I have reported this as a bug which it clearly is.
They have the function to add a "Guest player" but when you start a local game and select to add "Guest", the created Guest player is not shown.
This is NOT a new feature request. EA ,just fix the bug .

@darth_shua Thank you. We figured out the multiple controllers.

The real issue that have kept us off the game is still not resolved.
When will they fix this? This is not a feature request. If you create a number of guests players and cannot select these when you play with your guests, it can only be considered a bug.

You can use separate controllers. The person who is playing in the number two spot needs to select their character with the second controller and the third person with the third controller and fourth with the fourth. Whatever controller picks the avatar, golfs with the avatar. This might be a changeable option within a round, but I have never tried.
