Green View
Maybe its just me but I thought the green view would include the elevation in Sim mode. Would a caddie book not include this in real golf? I'm just starting to play more Sim and find some of the mo...
Doing ok on sim. Really sorts the men from the boys. Not happy with these new 'aids'.
I'm a sim player and I very like the new green view because it's the reality of a real golfer. If you want a simulation game, you need to have a view of the green in your book. Simulation play isn't about doing everything harder is about doing the thing as they are in real life.
I personally don't want to know the elevation difference, and though I like the new greens from a yardage book. I don't like the addition of the beads.
I feel that the sim settings have a way to go. There are still way too many aids enabled... all I want to see is what hole I am on and a score card WITH THOSE IN MY FOURSOME. How is this not on the screen?
Everything else can be disabled... and why in sim mode is there a green grid. I find it distracting... I can disable it in freeplay... but in EA's default sim mode it is enabled.
If you want elevation, maybe create your own yardage book... or maybe EA should provide something in the game to allow you to do that. You will find it it will put you in the area code but it wouldn't be exact.
I'm a hard * that way... if we are going to play sim let's do that.
I think the bigger issue is that the putting needs to be velocity based. The way the game is now it is far too easy to lag putts close to the hole. All you need to do is set your distance with the reticule and hit your putt. The ball almost never gets away from you in this game. Lagging to 3 feet or less is the norm.

If they do that, I'm out. I'll go back to play TW14, which looks just as look at what 2K is doing anyway. Simmers, it's always about THEM THEM THEM, and the hell about everybody else. Worse than the flu, always ruining every games for everybody else and they're never happy about anything anyway. If I want to play golf, I'm going to play real golf. Or Perfect Golf with a mouse and no 3-click.

Isn't the whole idea of this game to imitate the golfing experience? And every step closer to that the ultimate goal?
They can always create an easier playing environment with slower green speeds reducing the balls roll out. And reducing the impact of a poor swing and poor timing with a more receptive setting in the game.
I don't get all the anger. There is room for everyone... isn't it time they expanded this game to accommodate more skill levels? For the game to grow you need more participants, rather than limit the amount of people wanting to play the game.
There are a lot of people here encouraging EA to expand and improve the game. A lot of you call it complaining... they see potential unfulfilled. And the window to capture this group of players will not stay open forever.
For the game to stay the way it is, with the ever shrinking user base. This game will get shelved, and I don't think anyone wants that.

I am hoping this is an option we can turn on/off. I would not want this forced again on Arcade players. I have stopped playing current PGA Tour and I am waiting for the next iteration. I am concerned if this feature gets implemented because it would also be copy/pasted to the next iteration. If this velocity feature gets implemented without an option to turn off, I will most likely save my $70 for a another game.
@ELF014 I find the same with putting… it’s just too simplistic. Just set the distance with the wonderful aiming marker (you’ll sense the sarcasm there) and hit the putt. Nothing gets away, it’s all judgement and less about the execution and it should be about both.
