One of my biggest pet peeves with this game was hitting the flagstick. Everytime it was hit, it careened 30-40 feet away from the pin. Regardless if it was a 15 yard flop... or 120 yard approach shot.It was happening so frequently I stopped aiming at the stick deliberately.I'm just wondering if they made some changes in a recent patch. I used to hit the flagstick probably once every other round... I was thinking today I can't remember the last time it happened.

I hit 2 (pure luck) today. One was on the bounce and stopped about 6 feet from the pin after it hit. The other hit it on the fly and careened 25 yards off the green and into the water. It giveth and it taketh away.

I hit them too. This has been happening even before this patch. I just aim away from it to avoid. I have played other golf games, but it is more common in this game. The rate of hitting a flag stick is larger in challenges especially when you are close to completing them.

@Ultrasonic_77 I wasn't complaining it was an observation. I'm aware of the issue where peole were complaining that the Pin Seeker award was being recognized. I wasn't one of them as mine was recorded. Same with the challenges, mine have always recorded.

For a long time I was hitting flag sticks on a regular basis. And honestly I made it a point not to pin seek with my shots.

But it dawned on me the other day, neither the people I regularly play with or myself had hit one in a while.

I swear there was a time it seemed as wide as a support pillar for a bridge.

I mean really, how often do you hit one in real life.

If it was changed, I think it was before the last update. I just happened to notice it now.

I do understand the odd time you flush one off the stick and it might careen 20-30 feet away. But I believe it would be an exception and not the rule. This game seemed to have it backa$$wards.

But then it's not the only thing I believe they got wrong.

That would be cool if the flagstick has the giveth and taketh away approach. In my case, the flagstick has Layeth the Smackdown on the ball which normally careened 25+ yards away.

@ELF014 I have hit the pin many times. Sometimes with a 2W and sometimes with approach irons and sometimes with all the different pitch shots. The point is that you do not have any idea what the result is going to be. Yes there are ricochets that end up off the green and there are ones that stop dead and about 3 now have plugged into the holes. It is golf. Accept what you get and make the next shot. What is with the whiners? Don't like it? Don't play. It is taking time to learn all the shots and when to play them and how to get close to pins by modifying the lofts and reading the winds. Best is to play to the middle of the greens and learn to move the balls after they land. It is not easy but it is rewarding.

You seem to have the wrong idea. I asked if anyone noticed a change in the number of pins being hit of late.
I don't remember complaining about it... other than the fact that more often than not how hard it hits the flagstick is unrealistic.
You seem to be implying that I am not very proficient at this game. I got tired of scoring low in this game that we now play without skills or specs, just a stock 67 character on SIM settings and manually disabling other features. Since SIM presets don't disable everything.
By the way, even with these settings we usually still shoot under par. I was -5 at Evian last night.
And the game IS easy... and not really that rewarding in it's current state, especially, if you have a fully skilled and spec character.
