I will be investing hundreds of hours over the next few years in this game. I only play on my own, no internet access required. However, I am forced to save my profile and progress on the EA servers. What happens in a few years time when they eventually get turned off? Will EA make it so that saves can be made local to the PS5 machine or will I simply lose year's worth of progress, specs etc.?
Playing on your own still requires being online.
I know that. My question is: one day when EA decide to shut down the server will they at that point make a provision so that we can save our progress onto local storage in our PS5? I don’t want to lose all my progress with my specs and skills just because they are the ones that hold my save data.
I doubt they will do anything, the game is abandoned. The good news is the server of TW14 just shutdown last year, and for EA Rory made in 2015, the server is shutting down next year after 10 years. So you can expect something like 8 more years before they shutdown this server.
Oh, I didn't know they were shutting down EA Rory.
