Inconsistencies of shots
How was this game released with the shot mechanics so broken? You can line up a shot and hit it the same way and the ball lands 20 yards away from the same shot set up. Reading greens is near impossi...
I'm not sure specs should matter that much. Yesterday I hit a tee shot that showed the line going perfectly straight through the centre of the ball, club speed as perfect and backswing 0.7% short. That shot violently shanked 100 yards to the right and ended up in the water, rather than the left edge of the fairway where I was aiming. This happens multiple times every 18 holes.
In real life you don't shank a ball you hit basically perfectly. That isnt how physics works. If I shanked it fair enough, but to hit a ball perfectly straight only for it to shank violently 100 yards from its target just isn't right.
I don't like it either, and probably the main reason why most have stopped playing the game. Some Simmers want even MORE random, but even some of them hate it. When I started a second golfer, it reminded me how bad it was, the feeling it doesn't matter what you're doing, the game is taking over and sending the ball wherever it wants. Lots of Arcade players left, and 3 clickers too.
Who said simmers wanted more random???
If you don't care about daily quests and challenges, you can get away with lots of RNG. But those quests and challenges forced you to overswing to make long drive. And they forced draw and fade advanced swings too, giving really weird result in high winds, with balls sometimes going against cross wind. I would prefer no RNG with punishing rough and bunker, rather than RNG with minimal to no punishing rough and bunker like right now.
There is nothing wrong with having RNG in a golf game. It just should have been done with a scalpel rather than a butcher knife.

This was a feature in the Tiger Woods series. Just hope the next iteration can go back to this.
