Lately?

Lately everything they do seems to make it more difficult so the simmers will stay and/or come back. And more arcade players are leaving. If you want to keep an audience you have to find a way to appease everybody. IMHO

  • The TW Series had more options to make games easy for beginners and hard for Sim.

Here are some options that are needed to make game accessible to from arcade to sim players.

    1) Add Options to turn on/off RNG.

    2) Add Options to turn on/off lipout physics.

    3) Add Options to control wind speed like in TW games.

    4) Add Sliders to Buff or Nerf shot types; this option can help all levels.

    5) Add weather options such as Rain which was available in TW games.

    6) Add Sliders to adjust backspin.

    7) Add Sliders to adjust breaking putts.

    8) Add options to change flagstick position or even remove flagstick.

Having more options just makes game more accessible.

@ELF014I think the issues with putting is that the aiming marker controls the power and speed of the ball and not your swing.

I fully agree with you that putting should be velocity based, but I have never felt that the roll out on the greens were correct.

I always bring up the 16th hole at Augusta... there is no way my ball should stop on the hill with the Sunday pin placement... I've been watching that tournament for decades and the ball always feeds back down to the hole.

This game doesn't need big or global changes to improve drastically. They just don't seem to be able to understand what needs to be changed.

There are a lot of minor changes that could be implemented by an opinional setting that could be toggled so it doesn't affect the status quo. Like being able to select additional green speeds or allowing you to disable the aiming reticule, or other on screen aids.

Full control of configuring your Private Room settings... many things that don't affect the default users experience.

But would improve the overall experience for many.

  • @ELF014 for a long iron to check pretty quickly t has to on a high trajectory (apex at a minimum of 120 feet high, below 100 feet will give a very low trajectory and the ball will roll out (depending on slope/firmness) quite a few yards, egg 8 to 20 yards

I spent the first third of my life in the engineering field so I have a pretty healthy concept of physics. But thanks for the lesson.

The problem have is that there is a significant drop off with the clubs, as well as the ridiculous amount of roll out. I would note that I don't play this game anymore except if a new patch drops. And admittedly the last patch seemed to address this issue. I didn't find the ball rolling out nearly as much as I remembered.

But I only played one round at Augusta... and a few holes to confirm what I thought on St Andrews.

The game is still bad though... overall as a simulation of golf.

  • @ELF014 if you played this game more you might just complain less and see the possibilities that those who enjoy the game can see and enjoy
  • @Allan5858 this forum would be DEAD if people didn’t give feedback

    Is feedback wrong
Are we wrong to give criticism
Are we wrong to report bugs
    Should we not report glitches

Your statement is wrong on so many levels

Let’s just get EA to ban all our forum accounts so we don’t have to give negative feedback cos it upsets you ? 🙄
  • @agentputt I am not upset about negative feedbacks, but the there is a separate section of this forum to report bugs and glitches. Criticism is fine, but people also need to see positive and constructive criticism. I also believe that this forum would thrive if it were more positive and less of a dumping ground for negative experiences.
  • @Allan5858 Asking for features like Weather, reducing RNG, adding more features are not bugs, it’s feedback

I think I played this game exclusively from the release date till about the end of September. So I think I put in more than enough time to get a sense of the game. I still go back and testv every patch to see if anything has improved. Or more often than not what's gotten even more broken.

I see the possibilities... EA just isn't doing anything to get us there. Though what I would like to see may not be the same as others.
