No Controller Detected Error on Digital EGA PGA Tour Golf Game

I receive the following error when launching the game.  "No Controller Detected - Please connect your controller!  Press A on any controller to continue with that controller."

Nothing happens when I press OK.   This only happens on this one digital game.  I get the same results on all controllers.  All controllers work just fine with other games on disc.

I purchased the game in August of 2024 and have been playing it long enough to amass 32 XP points. 

I initially received the error shortly after receiving a low battery notification on the controller that I was using at the time.

I changed the batteries at the end of the round, turned on the controller and was greeted by this error.
