'No Controller Detected' error several times per round

I am using a 1 month old XBox wireless controller and get the message below several times per round when I press A to address the ball.

NO CONTROLLER DETECTED

Analog Swing Mechanic is not playable with keyboard.  Please use a controller of change your "Swing Mechanic" and "Putt Mechanic" settings to "3-Click" to continue.

PRESS B TO GO BACK

Strangely when I press the B button it cancels the message so the controller is obviously still recognised by the game.  This can be fixed by Alt-tabbing to the desktop and then back again.  Super annoying and doesn't happen in any other game, so I know it isn't a fault with the controller.

Any ideas?

Thanks

  • You're right Flash, it is not the controller. I have a Xbox 1 wired controller, I'm using with my PC, and it constantly disconnects me. Usually I hit A and it comes right back. But sometimes I have to unplug my cord from the controller and plug it in again. Then I hit A and it comes back. Controller works just fine with other games I play with a controller, such as Mafia, American & Euro Truck Simulator, Air Combat 7 etc..

It happens way too often during a game session, and really screws with your focus during a tournament. And totally destroys the immersion. Please fix this now EA!
