I don't think there is a lack of interest in golf games. I think there is a lack of interest in poorly designed and supported golf games.
I'm guessing EA PGA Tour made a pretty big splash on release, but the ripples have settled after people got a chance to get intimate with the product.
It is sort of like dating... you get blinded by the pretty face and promises. But after 7 months things haven't changed and you are feeling unfulfilled.
2K doesn't check all the boxes either... but the alternative is not to play any video golf.
I've been hoping for months that EA would realize they didn't cater to a large enough group of players. And that they would start correcting a multitude of poor decisions they made when designing the game.

This not only sums up EA PGA but might the the best comparison made to an EA game ever 😆. I laughed out loud reading this bit and can say it hits the nail on the head perfectly!
For a little trip down memory lane, I played not only my copy of TW 2014 but also my copies of… get ready for it… PGA Tour 96 and European PGA Tour (both on the SNES) and BOTH of those were not only EA Golf games, but still better gameplay wise than their latest offering and those two older games are almost 30 years old.
