I don’t hold Steam to be the be all and end all of game usage, but it is a reliable source of truth. 115 people playing in steam right now. finding online players is getting much more difficult...

You make a good point, but this was a conscious decision made by the developers of the game. They obviously thought flash was more important than substance when creating this game, and could sell this idea to consumers.
Since this game is a live service as opposed to a yearly title, it’s not out of the question that clubs/societies/co-op career/ course designer etc could all happen at some point.
Before then, the biggest issue imho is play from sand and the rough. For me I don’t think gameplay is nearly as bad as most on this forum think that is with that one exception. Rough and Sand need to actually be penalizing. There needs to be moderate to significant reduction in distance, accuracy, and spin from those across the board.
@7AnimalMother Excellent post! I completely agree with your assessment on rough. Definitely needs to be more penal. Blast from bunker isn't as bad. It's really the pick shot from bunkers that is ridiculously over powered! It's almost like EA became enamored with providing TOO many options instead of just providing challenging gameplay with basic golf shots.
