One game mode for online? Is this a joke?

I'm happy with the amount of game modes on single player. However why on earth can you only pick stroke play online?! Why the hell isnt there the option to play at least all 9 of the game modes online? This literally makes no sense. It also seems like my friend could only pick to play as his career character as well? Were these issues some sort of error with the games programming? I can't imagine this was done on purpose. 

Luckily I have EA pro so I didn't purchase this piece of garbage, feel sorry for those who did, and obviously EA don't offer refunds. I hope this basic mode is sorted ASAP.
