It allows you to:
-show off you shots and skills, and vice verser
-allows heckling your opponent for their bad shots, vice verser
-allows you to show off your equipment, apparell, etc. Will influence people to care more about appearance in general if people can see you, and therefore encourage more usage of the store which will increase EA'S overall revenue
Overall way more fun and feels more like golf.

Definitely agree, especially with your third point.
- @joelreynolds I agree with this. my playing partners and i would like to see turn by turn to come out here. Also would like the other games, skins, alt shot and match play in private match section.
I had this option on an old PS3 tiger woods game.
Whoever made the decision to not include this feature made a big mistake. It's the only reason I won't be buying the game.
