Overall player feedback
So, this will probably a long one and english isnt my first language, so sorry about that in advance.
Been playing the TW PGA Tour series since its release, the 2K series, golf in reallife for 20 years, 3 as professional so I would like to throw in my 2 cents, because I really do love this game.
"Ideas/wishes" will be in random order as my brain has to put all things together.
Intro:
Been playing the game to in career mode exclusive and made it to level 40. 10 weeks into the career. 4 rounds per tournament. Full 18 holes.
1. Menus
The XBox controllers seem to be a little sensitive and when using sticks it "jumps" through the menu making it really hard to get to the point I want to choose. Using the pad buttons instead.
2. Player stats
If I invest my hard earned points into my player skills "what" does it change? Power says "increases swing speed" ... by how much? In percent, yards carry ... Same goes for all the other stats. Can we have percentages or whatever unit you feel like so that I can "see" changes.
3. Earning stats points
Currently my way to get the points to upgrade my skills is playing round after round. A full round gives me about 19,230 exp. Lets say 20k. Getting level 40 to 41 requires about 120k exp. So lets say 6 full rounds of golf. Getting from my current position to "maxed out stats" requires 85 statpoints. 2 points per level up makes this 43 levels. So lets say we will stay at 120k exp per level and it wont increase anymore that is 43 times 6 rounds = 258 rounds of golf. Thats ... a lot. Im cool with that but ... might be a little excessive.
4. Clubs "Specs"
These thingys you can earn in shop or via achievements to improve ur clubs. Same here like player stats - could we get a feedback what improving from overall 25 -> 55 "means". Like in numbers right next to it? Power = +10 yards carry. Accuracy = Landing zone circle -10% size etc. That would be awesome.
5. InGame Course settings
I 10 full tournaments in career mode and pretty much every coursesetting felt the same. Lightning fast greens, fairways (I cant make a ball stop on the green above 7 iron if my life was depending on it)(no spin control etc. just hitting the ball as it lies).
Rough ... Somehow my shots roll of the fairway/green into the "deep" rough. You cant even see the ball at this point anymore. But the ball rolls inside the rough with the physics of rolling on the fairway. It somehow doesnt slow down.
Rough again ... when I am lying in "deep rough" it still almost never goes below 80% hit percentage and you can go full swing on almost 99% of all shots from the rough and hit perfect shots. Could be a little more difficult to play from outside the fairway.
Could the course settings be just a little bit more randomized? Smaller fairways, higher roughs etc.
Could we get like rain resulting in softer fairways, greens etc. in the future?
6. InGame Gameplay
Short game ... around the green, could we get like a shot adviced that makes at least any sense? Close to the green = chip. Bunker between green and ball = flop. Fringe = put. Most of the shots I have to change the setting and scroll like a berserk through flop, high flop, punch, etc. etc. ...
Lie effect ... doesnt quite "feel" like it would really change a lot. Maybe increase a little bit if I am standing up-/downhill or sideways?
7. Commentary
Could we add an option to have commentary "off/few/medium/all". I dont need them to talk about every shot I make. Just sometimes would be cool.
8. Metric system
Meters and km/h would be highly appreciated
9. Stuff
Could we replace crow on some courses. At Kiawah Island for example these lunatics were just standing in the bunkers next to the fairway.
10. Bugs
- At the statistics feed in the career mode at "approach the green" my golfer is listed at 72.64% of GIR and "0.00 proximity to hole". Seems to be bugged.
- When losing connection to the EA servers while ingame I can continue my round at the last shot I made, but will only receive EXP for the holes I played from that point on. Example: connection lost to servers on hole 10 - I only receive the exp for playing holes 10-18, rest is lost.
11. Quests
- In the quest feed, section mastery, chapter 1 it feels really akward to "have to" eagle a random par 5 or short par 4 on every course. Could we get something "easier" or more "creative" in chapter 1 and maybe safe the "eagles" and harder for like chapter 3?
- In the quest feed, section PGA Tour, chapter 1, could we also make it a little bit more entertaining than having every tournament be "finish even par or better + top 80 + win"?
12. Settings
- Auto tap-in. Is it possible to make the animation way shorter. I tried it to make real "tap ins" quicker but the golfer still lines up. Aims. Puts. Just like I would do it myself and it doesnt save any time for me.
- Camera angles are sometimes bugged when close to obstacles but I think that was already posted somewhere else
I already apologize for the long thread and maybe topics that have already been adressed but I cannot stress enough how much I really really love this game especially after the 2K series being a major flop in my opinion compared to the EA Sports golf series over all the years. Also I never adressed devs with actual feedback in anytime in my life but I want this game to be really down to perfection (in my opinion) so I would like to contribute useful feedback.
Thanks a lot for everyone involved in this game and the hard work you guys put into this project! Really love it! Keep up the good work, spirit and motivation for this and future projects around the beautiful game of golf!

Just on this point the number of XP needed to reach each successive level gradually increases so you'll have overestimated the number of rounds to reach level 43 a lot there. On the other hand an estimate of how many rounds to get from level 43 to 50 based on the above would also be an underestimate. Given the game has only been out for a couple of weeks and there are already players at the maximum of level 50 I don't really think there is an issue here. Are you at level 40 or was that just an example?
Note that there are ways to earn XP in game beyond just playing rounds too (challenges etc).
