I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PHYSICS OF THE GAME. This is a video game and I simply want to compete against other players online. But no cross play,, no in game chat, no community clubs and player created tourneys, and worst of all the fact they keep forcing these foursome team games noone wnats to play while making us constantly reque every damn 2 mins if we don't get neough players, Is basically ea telling its playerbase to fk off!. And on the PC they did. Its over, literally noone is playing on the pc online when a couple months ago the game was literally growing. I'm absolutely infuriated i wasted a whopping 80 dollars for this obvious bare bones cash grab that ea apparently resents so much they are literally sabotaging it.. Who the fk is going to sit here and hit the que button every 2 mins for an hour. You guys want development of the courses and physics biut that won't continue to happen with no players buying the game... and that comes from communities of people playing together online. period.

So what? Conversely, that's what I care about the most.
See how the game needs to cater to a multitude of people, not only yourself?

100% Agree with your comment. If there is no physics in this game, there will be no players who would want to play. There is a song by the Sex Pistols called "No Future" with the ending of the song repeating the title. If physics is not addressed, that song would be playing on the future of the franchise.

I don't know what You mean by physics. But I think this game already has better graphics and physics than 2k. But I'm moving on to 2k along with everybody else and I'm leaving this game to the couple dozen cheaters and couple dozen guys on pc who want to play a hard sim offline by themselves. Enjoy.

By the way, I have quit playing this game since August and have played 2K23 since.2K23 has way better physics than this game. When I am talking about physics, this game has the ball levitating above the cup which should never happen. Also I am playing in Xbox Series X. Don’t ever call me a cheater; I only play single player modes and don’t even play online. Your accusation is preposterous and inappropriate.

When I refer to physics I mean the feel of the game feeling more life like. 2k23 graphics are a little clunky the way swings are and the ball flies and moves. I dunno man. You don't even play online? You might as well stick with this game then lol. Personally graphics and physics are the least of my priorties. I think everything else is more important because I DO play online. I just still can't believe you claimed 2k23 has better physics then this game. Its almost like you are trying to prove that is what players care about. But the graphics and physics in 2k23 are atrocious compared to this game. EA Sports have always been known for smooth graphics and play control and natural life like physics. Just the way the ball bounces on the ground, flies in the air, even rolls on the firaways on the green is so unnatural feeling and clunky in 2k23 its a real downgrade from this game. But again, those are not the priorities of most players. But for you to say that is YOUR priority and yet you prefer 2k23? Nah.... I don't believe that bud. The reason 2k23 is way more popular and this game just died, is because 2k23 has online play and social aspects, which is what makes a good sport. Which is what this game is. An E-sport.
EA Sports haven't lost that sporting feel in the game itself, but I think they have forgotten the core element of what makes a sport. The sporting community. And they have been giving us the finger since launch. RIP.

Paloma is right, it's a lot less frustrating with the 2k23 game. The ball is going as aimed in 2k23, not somewhere in a big circle where you're missing fairways. In 2k23, a putt is not slowly going straight over the middle of the hole like in this EA game... even though it has not happened to me for a while. Some of the lip outs are unreal and very frustrating in this EA game. The 2K23 game is a lot user friendly, specially for someone not playing head to head like me and many others. We are far from EA TW14 where just about all ball physics were perfect.

Well said. 2K23 is my preference because I don’t have to deal with the RNG and it is way user friendly for 3 Clickers and beginners. One thing I never see in 2K23 is the ball levitating above the cup. I still miss TW14 and those were the good ole days. Graphics are pointless if the current game can’t compete with 2K23 or TW14.

@agentputt wrote:
@RichACYeah when balls go over the hole and lip out the wrong way, the physics are perfect
Not sure if you could tell but I was being sarcastic. There is no way you’ve put much into this game if you haven’t noticed that even onceThat doesn't describe the entire physics of the whole game bud. The ball physics in 2k23 are way worse. Its corny clunky and cartoonish and doesn't feel as realistic as EA. I have about 150 online match games I think. Played two careers, finished most fo the sponsorships. The other person was talking about levatating balls, you're talking about lipping out the wrong way. I use to notice the ball rolling right over the hole like it wasn't there but they fixed that. Honestly I have a hard time believing you guys think the physics in this game are worse than 2k23. Physics also go hand in hand with graphics, its part of your graphics card drivers and ea pga tour is clearly superior in every way. Even the shot shaping and play control, like spinning the ball, feels so much more realistic on EA. This plays and feels so much better. But graphics and play control aren't everything. I mean hell in 2k23 everyone is putting knocking the ball into the flagstick. lol
But go ahead you guys keep fooling EA into believing that people want to play a sim game and thats why they are playing 2k23. I couldn't make this up if I wrote a book about this wow... Time for EA sports to clean house again. - 2 years ago

Putt physics in 2k23 are miles betterI'm not sure how you can argue that the ball physics feel more realistic in 2K. Though I will admit IMHO, the swing mechanic is unnatural... while I like the concept the swing is too quick. It was much better in 2K2019.
I can play and score with it but anything other than a fullswing feels unnatural.
EA's swing on 2K's game would be about perfect for me... though there is something clunky about EA's putting animation... and what's with the ball on the toe of the putter when addressing your shot?

Balls don't even hit trees in 2k23 they go right through them without even a tree sound, and people launch putts into the flagstick. I laugh when i see the ball rolling super slow on fairway or green and never slowing speed or stopping it looks so unnatural. honestly who do you people think you are fooling? In EA even the crowd is an actual full object on the map that can affect the ball. You guys dodn't understand how physics work and how its utilizing your graphics card drivers and hardware. Good graphics usually automatically mean good physics. 2k23 looks like it has graphics from 1998 and feel clunky. I'm starting to think the dozen of you left are 2k23 plants here to kill off this game and drive people to 2k23. lmao. I guess it worked cause thats what I play now.
I noticed there is a flashing red bulls eye if I'm in a bunker with a high face and this is flashing notifying me that I will hit the face. This is new for patch 9. How can I turn this off. I play custom with shot shaping, at the hardest level, and I don't need any notications helping me play.
If Ea adds any help in the game we need to be able to turn off if not needed.
Thanks!

I only have a few issues with the ball physics in 2K... and that is when hitting a long club where the ball has a low ball flight. The ball always seems pop up after the first bounce limiting the rollout. While I have seen this happen in real life it's more of an oddity than an expectation... in 2K it seems to happen everytime.
The other thing is when the ball is sitting on a severe up slope around the green, ball reaction can be inconsistent. Sometimes the ball comes out short, other times it lands beyond the max distance of what should be capable.
But I find the swing glitches from time to time in the game... especially noticeable when chipping.
As for EA, I appreciate that the swing and ball reactions are pretty consistent in the game. My issue is with the amount of rollout with the ball on shots other than a putter. There is a severe drop off between a 6 and 7 iron in the game... my issue should be that it should be more subtle. A 6 iron shouldn't hit the front apron of a green and roll through the length of it and another 40-50 feet into the bush.
And then for the putting to feel like you are trying to roll the ball on a shag carpet is puzzling. You are going from one extreme to the other.
I agree EA's swing mechanics are more consistent, but the ball physics are horrible. And you shouldn't need skill points and specs to improve ball physics in a golf game. Those should be used to improve on shot execution.
2K's physics are not perfect... but in my opinion feels much better overall.

The BALL physics are better on EAoh ya you are right. ridiculous breaks and balls that don't change speed no matter the distance, and players launching putts into the flagstick from less than 10 feet away sure seem much more realistic than EA. lol I mean i've played 100s of games on EA and never seen the ball pop out of the cup, or continue to roll over it since they patched that. not saying it doesn't happen. But come on you can't compared the graphics of these games. l I don't think some of you realize that graphics and physics go hand in hand. SO to argue a game that looks like its from 1998 has better physics than ea's game, is laughable.

I think people feel because the rough and sand is more punishing in 2k23 that means its more "sim" like and has better physics. But that is not what physics or sim-like mean to me. lol

It's hard to argue with someone who doesn't seem to grasp things.
How does the quality of a graphical representation of something have anything to do with the math being applied to it?
I have no idea what you are referring to in regards to 2K's putting model. As in real life if the greens are fast... slow putts will break a ridiculous amount, especially downhill.
As for ramming putts into holes... I tested EA's original putting model and from 1 foot I could hit a 30 putt and it would still go in the hole. They have since adjusted it... because I have no idea what it does now. It seems you need putting skill points for the physics to even seem to be reasonable. Because without them it is like there is a glass cover on the hole at times.
