How are there no private matches except non-turn stroke? I mean, you have all these game modes, stroke, match, best ball, alt shot, etc that I love to play. But you don’t offer them in a private match!? Only local or vs cpu ai!? All I want to do is invite my friends to play any of those game modes. Or at the very least give us the option to do turn based stroke. But even that would get boring quick. It make’s absolutely no sense. You call this a next gen game yet it’s basically a single player game. It’s a shame cause me and my buddies have been waiting for this game for years! Thinking we’ll finally be able to play an EA golf game together online. But No. what a let down. Again, it’s just straight up baffling how a next gen game that has online play, doesn’t have any sort of constructed layout for private matches. A real shame.

I can’t believe that’s actually true, brought the game for that exact reason so the wife and I could play against each other at home, spent an hour wasting my time trying to do that yesterday! It’s ridiculous, who can a game not have that option! Not happy!

This has been a topic of discussion since early release. With no release day update to open those modes it makes the game fairly useless in my opinion. Others may think differently

Attention EA. Not having an option play private matches against my friends online where we get to watch each others shots is beyond belief. Have your developers not spent one minute researching other recent golf games? This is literally the only reason many of us play these games at all. 4 of us purchased your game for the express purpose of playing each other in a private match on either stableford or strikeplay. Watching your mate mess up or hit the shot of the day is the whole point!!How the hell can a next gen game not have this option? How??? It's like a game like gears of war deciding to skip on having a koth mode. Myself and my mates are disgusted and from what I can see so are most of your customers.

Yes I agree!!!! I want to be able to have turned based shots just like local player but online private matches. I want to watch my buddy mess up so I can laugh, and then they can laugh when I mess up! Please update this!

Private match. when host changes conditions it does seem to aplly to the other players. For instance when i set pins to say friday the others will be on saturdays pin or even sunday. should all be on the hosts settings.

@longgone27 Your question isn't exactly clear. But in general the course settings should be applied to all the players in the game.

HOWEVER for the first time last night we found that we were shooting at different pins. Exiting and restarting the session fixed the issue.

But I would like clarification on something else, reading the release notes on their patch implies that user difficulty settings are NOT applied from the HOST's settings in multiplayer.

I assume which is why there are now multiple strokeplay options available in the game.

So…if I want to play a friend in a online match - is this allowed. Because I have heard people say when they do this they CANT watch the other player take their shot, it’s like playing alone….is this true?

I agree that there needs to be other formats like match and alt shot and so forth. also in match play when you set game up for friday's pin postion , if you have one person with you you will get friday's pin , but if you have say 4 people only the host and first person to join gets friday's postion the other 2 get sundays position. makes playing with a group boring to play same pin all the time. and of course turn order is a biggie. Also lets go tell the PGA that pros cant move on the tee box. Lets see how far that goes.

Reposting to this thread. I totally agree. Really need to add these multiplier modes ASAP. including option to watch each person shoot. Friends play this game to play with friends!! Half are losing interest and switching games bc we can't play against each other.
Strongly suggest EA add:
Scramble 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, (allow uneven teams)
Alternative shot 2v2, 3v3, etc.
Skins and match play
Consider letting players choose a handicap AND difficulty at menu screen, and make it visible to all. To make it fair we play own different difficulties.
"Closest to pin wager" would be interesting (e.g. in skins match, you can wager a skin to ctp on a par 3).
Additional updates critically needed:
Need more camera angles to watch friends (at least same view as hitting)
When done putting, show the players standing to side of green or something.
110% echo the comments to enable turn based shots.
SHOW the scorecard for all players in menu and after match! It goes away immediately after the match....ridiculous.
Side note - will there ever be stats of the round?? Longest drive, firz gir, puts, etc. This game is pure gameplay. But misses out on the realism of golf...which are stats!
