Hello Barry,
I did exactly what you mentioned in your previous post. I'll give you a bit of background info on my PC skills. I have an Associates on Electronics Engineering so I consider my PC skills slightly above average and I can follow instructions to the letter:
Try the following steps:
- Download and install any available updates from the Alienware website: [ Done ]
- Download and install all available Windows Updates: [Done]
- Run System File Checker to ensure the integrity of your Windows System files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
- [Done]
- Perform a clean boot before starting the game: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 or http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
- [Done]
- The results were: SFC was ran and some corrupted files were found and repaired. Tried running the game again and the PC shut down after getting to the start of the clubhouse and the announcers. Then performed a clean boot: This time I got to the tee box on Augusta Number 1 and then the PC shut down. Then put everything back the way it was and I got to finish Augusta Number 1 (bogey BTW, not bad for my first try with a new X-Box controller). Then, you guessed it, the PC shut down again.
Fortunately the Alienware PC is not the only computer in the house so I can follow instructions from my laptop while working on the Alienware PC. I did run an (MSinfo3232.exe) and have attached it here. Perhaps it will help. I really want to like this game, but I am running out of options here.
Surfing the web, watching YouTube videos, streaming on all platforms are not a problem.
Just playing this game is. Also, it's the only game I have right now on the Alienware PC. I have not downloaded any others for fear it may be the same thing.
I very much would appreciate any support you can send my way.
Regards,
Luis Munoz (PinarelloFP3)
