Rory McIlroy PGA Tour (...a dumpster fire of a game) for the PS4 does the same thing when installing and launching it for the first time. <sarcasm>Nice to hear EA has carried on the tradition here in 2023.</sarcasm> In the case of Rory anyway the game was actually still installing. They just dump you into whatever the heck it was providing no explanation at all. I had to perform an Internet search to figure out what was going on. Once the game finished installing I was able to access the full game. Still annoyed when I think about it. I don't want to be dumped into some scripted presentation mode garbage. Install the bleeping game, then take me to the main menu.
True. Don’t know how can this happen. Especially since they’ve hyped it up for 1+ years.

I believe this is the expected behaviour if the game hasn't fully finished downloading, although there have been some people who have seen this even with an indicated fully complete download. I'd check the download status in the first instance, and if it does show as complete I'd try deleting the game and trying the download again.
For info. the game is working for most on PS5 (including me) so it's not that the game is universally broken in this regard.
