PS5 deluxe edition - Can't Play, only lets me play round with Scottie Scheffler

@SmKirk1996Actually checking back through the thread I may have misunderstood. I missed the very start of post I quoted and thought it related to a slightly different issue. The limited game modes thing is linked to not being able to connect to EA's servers but it looks like that probably applies to all of you.

In my case I already had my EA account linked from previous games and so I didn't have to do anything in this regard, and so it basically just worked for me. I get a message saying something like 'Connecting to EA's servers...' when the game launches and then I'm into the main game. I'm therefore not totally sure what should happen if this is not the case but if your account isn't linked then I'd guess you should get a prompt about doing so but it sounds like this isn't happening.

Just possibly the following may be helpful but it sounds like EA may need to do something 'behind the scenes' to resolve this.

You have absolutely nothing to apologise for 🙂, I've not had a game update yet myself but I hope what is currently downloading for you helps.

Has anyone figured out a solution yet? I downloaded the standard edition to my PS5 and all it will allow me to do is play the initial round with Scheffler. I didn’t get any other kind of menu or options. Very frustrating 

Still have this issue, disk version ps5 digital game 

it s because the download is not complete, check the download status. there is a step of the download you can just play this round  ( around 20 percent of the total download) . 

Anyone know how to fix this?  Extremely frustrating 

I purchased the game yesterday. I might just be an idiot but my problem is this. I start EA sports PGA tour from the PS5 menu. The game goes through its normal “EA SPORTS it’s in the game” intro. Then the game takes me straight to the first tee at Augusta and I’m playing as Scottie Scheffler. I am unable to exit or do anything else besides play the 18 holes at Augusta. I hit the start button and I am only able to Restart the round. That’s it. There is no other game mode available. I really hope I am dumb and missing something or is this a bug.  Can someone help? 

Rory McIlroy PGA Tour (...a dumpster fire of a game) for the PS4 does the same thing when installing and launching it for the first time.  <sarcasm>Nice to hear EA has carried on the tradition here in 2023.</sarcasm>  In the case of Rory anyway the game was actually still installing.  They just dump you into whatever the heck it was providing no explanation at all.  I had to perform an Internet search to figure out what was going on.  Once the game finished installing I was able to access the full game.  Still annoyed when I think about it.  I don't want to be dumped into some scripted presentation mode garbage.  Install the bleeping game, then take me to the main menu.
