PS5 deluxe edition - Can't Play, only lets me play round with Scottie Scheffler

PS5 bought in December 

Bowling Green, Kentucky 

Started yesterday afternoon First launch of program nice intro, had Sir Nick say hi (voice over) pressed button to start, after Masters introduction went straight to first tee. 
Never saw any error messages 

controls seem to work fine

no matches with Scottie, just playing the round

Upon leaving the game, restart goes right back to masters intro and Scottie in the first tee 

have even closed the game, opened another PS5 game, closed it and returned to PGA with the same results (Masters with Scottie on first tee)

Have even shut down PS5 for reboot and same result. 
no other options.  Was going to delete the game and reinstall it from the library.  That was next.

Is anything else happening? No, just won't let you select anything other than restart round

Are you only able to enter a match with Scottie Scheffler? At the start of the game it says "select any button to continue" After I hit X it takes me to Augusta playing as Scottie Scheffler and there's no way to exit the mode, it only allows me to restart the round.
What happens if you try to leave the round or quit the game and relaunch? The option to leave the round or quit is not there, only restart round. I closed the game and restarted numerous times and same thing happens

Please share any steps you've tried to far to resolve the issue: Restarting the game, restarting the PS5, finished the round to see if the option to leave was available and it wasn't, only allowed me to restart the round

Ditto. Already have one up and running with no issues on Xbox but have a PS friend so got the PS version. Stuck on Scottie at the Masters. Truly a bummer. The main difference I see is that the game on PS says "Trial" next to it, whereas the Xbox version has no such special annotation. It also says "Enjoy the trial! To get the full game now, go to the game's hub". However, I already bought the game, and going o the game's hub gives me no other options. Regardless of how I try to circumvent the trial, I'm always brought right back to Scheffer playing #1 at Augusta. 

100% sounds like a coding issue. as in they didnt really personally test the game enough to understand what might "malfunction". having only 50 people test a game (i doubt they have that many but just assume they did) vs 1 million people in the first week.... yea. and if one person has a problem but they dont acknowledge it or ignore it, boom this is what we get.) i kno they can fix it, but 100% its a problem with their coding and optimization. i'v seen many messages from this forum and steams forums of countless people unable to play, across all platforms. its almost like they made the game, wrote the coding but never played for more than, start the game, get to main menu, change some settings "OK IT WORKS GUYS SEND IT OUT!" thankfully i was able to find a fix for my own set up and havent had any issues since, but the fact remains.... i paid how much for a AAA game and then had to spend two days researching and "debugging" FOR FREE mind you, to fix the game. maybe i should not have helped them and tell them what worked for me.... don't they get paid for that???? so like wtf?

This issue is most likely due to early install and will resolve once the game is fully *released. 

Also, when replying to our info request on this thread, please specify if your PS5 is Disc or Digital, thanks.

WHAT GOOD IS IT TO HAVE AN EARLY RELEASE WHEN YOU CAN’T EVEN GET IT TO WORK PROPERLY?

I figured it out. Delete the version that you downloaded, and go to version before you redownload. Then you can download the deluxe version. We were downloading the demo for the standard version.

Tried to download the game from my PS5 library.  Same results, heading to the first tee of the Masters with Scottie.  
What is the process of requesting a refund for a defective product?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.
