Putting Ruined in Update 3.0
Guys please, revert. This update on putting is terrible. Additionally, the lip-outs are terrible. I've got 100 matches under my belt on this IP to learn the game and just getting a handle on it. I've...

@agentputtall 3 of your putts are definite misses post update. you hit em too hard. time to play softer and more break and they will lip in
Well they didn't go in, so yes they are misses post update so I can't argue with you there.
But the issue is that those are roll-over the cup with zero lip out or in.
Been being way less aggressive since the update and doing fine but yeah, I don't think those shots he shared should be not even reacting to there being a hole in the ground.
If a putt stops rolling on grass for a moment usually gravity takes over and if you want to argue that those should have hit the back rim of the cup and popped up or out then sure but those clips show a clear example of the ball having zero ground beneath it and rolling as if that isn't the case...do you disagree?
We are clear about the current meta/solution of having to play softer and more break and all there is no debate on that.

I don't think they have the animations for cup physics yet. the 1st one probably should have lipped 90 degrees to the left. The 2nd one I don't even know if it hit the hole at all. and the 3rd should probably hit the back lip and pop up into the air and keep going.
So because some players can’t hammer the putts home anymore, it’s broken ?
because now you have to actually read the green beads and adjust the speed of the ball, it’s broken ?
Putting is fine with the update in my opinion. Is it perfect ? No, but it’s better than before 100%
people complain because they now have to adjust and learn what should be and is the hardest part of a golf game, putting.
in my opinion even the putting line assist should be completely removed from the game too
So I agree that in some instances that putts may have been hit too hard
However the cup physics in my videos just seem completely wrong
Especially in 2 out of 3 they look like they went OVER the hole
I love the lip outs fyi and I accept in some instances I’ll miss putts now I’ll have made previously
What I don’t accept is bad cup physics
Here's an example I had playing last night, where I think it's reasonable that the putt didn't go in but the animation doesn't look great. The ball looks kind of like it bounces left off the side of the cup whereas I think it would have looked more realistic if it bent round to the right a bit but still missed.

Honestly, I disagree with that 1. I zoomed in to the cup as the ball got to it and that speed and where it hit the cup (just left of centre not even right on the outer edge), that should have dropped. That is broken there IMO.
I don't get what is there making it look like it's hitting something knocking it left. Like an invisible flag stick.
Hmmmm I think the putting since the patch has been improved in the sense you now have to read greens and control the speed. It’s how it should be and I’ve already commented on that.
I’ve also said it’s not perfect, and I do recognize there is a few instances that leave you scratching your head
go into challenges and select the open championship for long putts. The final putt is of Ian poulter using a Texas wedge. I found the correct speed is of around 205ft to the hole, yet around 2ft before the cup, you can clearly see an invisible object nudge it right or left so it misses. I’ve tried 200ft, 210ft, 215ft and it’s consistent that something is knocking it off course.
after you’ve hit the putt, use your analog stick and follow the ball from behind…. You can clearly see the faint nudge.
