Putting Ruined in Update 3.0
Guys please, revert. This update on putting is terrible. Additionally, the lip-outs are terrible. I've got 100 matches under my belt on this IP to learn the game and just getting a handle on it. I've...
I just want to revive this post since this is the one that mentions about how update 3.0 messed up the putting. Too bad this issue has not been fixed since. This posts also shows a great divide of who is for the change and who is against the change. This was the update that eventually resulted me of no longer wanting to play game.

@PalomaMarvel24Can’t believe that this is still an issue since June!
Crazy!
That’s 6 months since the Notorious Update 3 played the Simmer’s Paradise music. The Arcaders were playing the song “Laid Back” before the Notorious Update 3 broke the putting.

I keep saving the clips for when this happens. It still rare. When I get to around 5 I’ll post them on this thread
Another victim of the Elf's Manhole Cover update. ☹️

It’s gotten really bad. When I last played in August, I remembered the putt rolling over the hole and going past the green in Cardi Creek (aka Wolf Creek); this one actually hurt the results. I went to GameStop and traded current game for Madden 24 the next day. At that time, it was time to say No Mas.
I hope EA can make hot fixes or a big update after seeing your clips. It was so bad the putting got ruined by a single Bug Report from a Simmer.

It’s strange that the Simmer has blamed EA for the change even though he/she wrote the bug report. I found out another means of getting in-game issues changed and it is going to help.ea.com; this is anonymous and post is not visible. I tried this yesterday for UFC 5 when I purchased store contents and they remained locked; the issue got fixed the same day. I am betting that the Simmer also used help.ea.com at his disposal to get the update. I don’t think EA will make any changes unless it gets pointed out by someone.
Update 9 incorporated a request multiple simmers made to nerf flop/pick/finesse shots from a thread in August; I saw no bug reports. Another request by simmers from different thread in August was to make the rough and bunkers more penal. Luckily it has not happened yet. Arcaders might need to fasten their seatbelts like in “Fast and the Furious” if another simmer requested update shows up.

I love how you like to point fingers. I am pretty sure I complained about the current putting physics as much as anyone, and I doubt I have any leverage over EA. If I did this would be one of the smallest changes in the game.
How about we just agree that the putting physics have never been right, and that they only made it worse trying to address it?
And let's be honest... this was advertised as a full on simulation. So if anyone has a right to complain it would be the simmers over the simcade players. It's the simcade players that got closer to what they want than the sim crowd.
Yet as the adults in the room the simmers address an issue by explaining what they believe to be an issue and offering a possible solution. Rather than blaming someone who has no influence on the process. And are not personal attacks something you can be banned for on this forum?
But my contention has always been they could have catered to both by just adding some additional settings to the game, the ability to turn off a few features, adjust rough length that actually does something and add different green speeds. And to fix a few core components... namely RNG, ball and cup physics.
Ultimately it is EA who decides what they want to address and how they want to address it. And if it is working the way they want it.
NO ONE BUT EA, thinks that the current putting model is acceptable.

OMG so condescending. It says a lot about simmers on their high horses, and what they think of the rest of us as poor second class customers. ☹️

I'm sorry you feel I'm talking down to anyone, that wasn't the intent.
I was just pointing out while some people are contributing by stating what they feel are shortcomings in the software and possible solutions, others are just pointing fingers at who they feel are to blame. And in my opinion without any justification.

I just wished most simmers wanted to have options to turn on/off any request made to increase difficulty. But none of them did except for Allen. I was the voice of resistance to any increase in difficulty and I stated that options should be added unilaterally for all levels; Allen was the only simmer who agreed with me. A different simmer told me to play better in another resistance post. Our debates are respectful and I remembered you only wanted the options to be applied to beginners only. Tha would be very difficult to implement compared to have options all across the board.
I am resisting because I want to save the series. If this game gets even harder, PGA Tour will join NBA Live 19 as the last game of respective series. I have stopped becoming the voice of resistance once I stopped playing the game. But Katybee has awoken my resolve to resistance since I the see the game getting worse.
I watch the Hunger Games movies and I opened the voice of resistance like Lucy Gray. Katybee is more like Katniss and she has become the new voice of resistance. All of us have the same goal of saving the series, but we just see a different perspective.

I'm petite and I like it, but some days I wish I had those like Katniss Jennifer Lawrence. 😉

I have been painted with a brush saying I am one these simmers. And I guess I can accept that mantle, between arcade and sim I definitely fall in that category.
I have no issues with you, as I have always felt you were respectful in your posts. I just don't like how some people here are painting a group with one broad brush.
The things I have lobbied for would make play more realistic and only easier for the arcade player.
1. Fix the ball physics... the ball rolls out way too much for mid to long irons. This would help arcade players hit their yardages... and things would feel more realistic for us sim players.
2. Tighten up the RNG, you should be rewarded for executing a good shot. Again this would only benefit the arcade player.
3. Fix the cup physics... EA may have changed them but in no way did they fix anything. You can blame the simmers... but EA does what they want and the cup physics were broken from the start and needed to be addressed. And still does.
4. Add options to disable features in the game (ie. hiding the aiming reticule)... this hurts no one and only adds more functionality for those that want it.
5. Allow me to control the settings for my Private matches with individual toggles. Currently you can eirher use a preset or the room is open to whatever the players personal settings are. Again this only adds to gameplay.
6. Turn based play... I didn't even fully ask for this, I was happy if they gave us the ability to toggle to the player who had honors with a zoom function. As adults we could choose to play ready golf or turn based as in real life.
From what I can remember this is pretty much what I have been lobbying for since April. I don't think they are listening to me. I doubt my requests have even been reviewed by anyone.
I don't see how singling people/groups out gets us any closer to getting this game to a better place. You are just taking the attention away from those that can do anything to fix things, namely EA.

For items 1 and 3, that needs to be addressed. For item 2, I would prefer to go even farther and have option to turn on/off RNG; a slider would even be more optimal since each player can choose what fits their level. For item 4, I wished we had that a long time ago especially turning on/off RNG and lipouts. For item 5 and 6, I support extra options.
I just played the 4 holes tournament. I got 2 lip out around the hole and 1 save by the goalie where the ball lip out going away from the hole. How do you call it Paloma, Simmers Paradise? 3 of them in 4 holes. 🥳

I call that Simmer’s Paradise. It looks like Andrei Vasilevskiy of the Tampa Bay Lightning is making the save at the hole. In Cardi Creek, he can make a shutout at the hole.
@PalomaMarvel24Noticed how the people at the beginning of this thread are nowhere to be seen on the forums now?
The who people wanted these changes don’t even play anymore
And the people that didn’t want them still play the game
So what does that say about the people EA listen to?

It looks like the people who wanted the change left dodge maybe because they realized they messed up. One of them posted back in July complaining about the lipout physics they once championed. He has not appeared in forum since. Looks like Robert De Niro would them “I gave you a chance and you blew it…you blew it!” That was one of his quotes in the movie Copland.
As someone who predominately plays Sim online match play matches. I do agree the lip outs are an issue. I have seen too many lip outs on putts with speed that was very slow and putt should have been holed. There is a reasonable solution that would benefit players from arcade through sim. Change the coding so the amount of skill points applied to putting actually have an affect on lip out reduction. I have re-specc'd and placed max skill points into putting. I played a lot of matches and noticed I had the same amount of lip outs as when I had no points in putting. So there is no reason to have any points in putting for a Sim player, especially since putting grid is already off. This would be a great way to include more options/choice for where to apply skill points for all difficulty levels.
Just got one short putt going right over the middle of the hole with underswing and slow at the US Open. I know they're slick US Open greens but there was no reason for it, no overswing or fast there. So annoying.
