Final post on the matter…. This is nerfing. I’ve considered it enough to become convinced that this is the video game equivalent of participation trophies. That is absurd.
But it is what it is. I will hope they fix this in the next update, as it does not make the game more interesting or exciting. More challenging is debatable because you’re actually removing the human element from the outcome experience. All in all, it is just frustrating and, most importantly, not fun.

on approach shots my shots land "mostly" where i aim unless the WIND is being stupid. my last shot (130 yards, slight downhill like a foot into a 7mph wind, hit a finesse shot i think PW at 138 and my ball came short by at least 15 feet of the pin)
the wind being so off is my main issue

It happens to me with 1 to 2 mph winds and gust turned off in settings. I think it's just malarkey.
- @ragingsaint If only that were true. It happens with all phases of the game. I have had pitches, chips, bunker shots, etc. go wildly one direction or the other right off the club-head, even after taking into account the lie. It has even happened on putts, infrequently but it has occurred. I agree with the wind issue. Have had many shots which I am sure I have given enough club to come up 10-15 yards short of where they are supposed to land. Almost as if the game throws in an occasional chunk just to mess with your head.
- @frankhjr the only skill i have nothing on is putting, so youd think id miss putts more than anything but these wacko weird shots... its disgusting, i just blew 8k on todays 4k buy in (6/7/23) due to that bs, aim somewhere and the ball go elsewhere, in the rough, 100 feet from the pin, roll off the green...
It is not “random”. It’s making a choice. I play on an Xbox series X and have learned to reboot the console between rounds, because if I forget the entire next round is “random” when leading a tournament in Career mode. But if I do reset… it’s only on the really tough shots that I hit well.
another hack has been to deliberately swing poorly if I know I need to make a tough shot. And it works. That’s how absurd this is.
