Re: Putting Read Lines broken in latest update?

Is anyone else noticing that the putt read lines are absolutely atrocious since the latest update. Now by no means am I a PGA tour level putt reader, but the lines I get sometimes are absolutely not close to what they should be and just become a distraction when I try to read a putt on my own.

Don’t know if it’s been discussed, but I had 3 putts in a row that the “AI” read that were absolutely awful at Augusta, and lost by two strokes because of it.

If you are talking about the line that shows you how to expect the ball to break... I never use it. But I have always said this is a gauge rather than an absolute representation of the break. That it is basically the caddie making a read for you.

As you know putting is closely tied to putting speed so this line is best used as a gauge only. I turned it off right away when I got the game. But was forced to use it when I played Daily tournaments to earn some VC early on. I found it useful... but not always accurate.

@ELF014 my "arcade and pro" putt line is about 90% off, rarely do i hit a "perfect" putt that goes in.
i cant stand the line anyway, takes away the challenge of putting

Which is why I turn mine off. I play now with everything I can disable, disabled. The only thing is we alternate PRIVATE matches where we will enable the green grids every other game. We have someone complaining putting without the grid is a guessing game... I'm not sure he isn't wrong. It appears I'm just a better guesser.

But in the early days when I was playing the Dailies... I thought the putting line was pretty goid for the longer putts if you used it in conjunction with the putt meter. The short putts were terrible because the game wanted you to have the ball die as it dropped in the cup.

The same thing causing the AI short putting issues. Within 5 feet the line should be hit firmer and straighter.

I keep wondering how much golf do the people making the decisions in this game play or comprehend. They really need a PGA player on staff to oversee things who has an interest in creating a full realistic experience. And maybe an experinced gamer that can exploit the mechanics of the game to ensure there is a level of challenge for all players.
