In career mode I believe you can end up earning clothing etc by completing some of the sponsor challenges. The best way I've found to earn in came currency (Reward Points) is to play the daily/weekly/season tournaments (outside of career mode).
yes, there needs to be a way to get money from playing pro golf, I have won several tournaments and the pay-day hasn't afforded me to buy any equipment or clothing

The game needs to cater for everyone- 3 years ago
Here are my suggestions (THIS IS LONG, but I think there's some good suggestions in here).
Camera
Create-a-Cam (control zoom, pitch, wide angle, etc).
Keep camera from pre-address view (lower and zoomed in more on golfer - looks awesome). Don’t zoom out and change angle when the golfer addresses the ball. The big close up low angle looks super realistic.
More creative ball flight camera - close up of ball spinning. Ball gets bigger the closer it gets to the camera. Improved sensation of speed, etc.
Roll cam - it sucks. Angle it up more. Grass fills the entire screen. Angle the camera up and show show us more of the course beauty. More like the hole flyover cam.
Player Customization
More customization for the create a player (facial features and body styles - fat, skinny, jacked, long legs, short legs, height, weight, etc).
Course Designer
Take a page out of 2k's book.
Events
Option to change the number of rounds in events.
Practice
Driving range. Maybe even a Top Golf partnership…
Night range option.
Golfers
Add legends (Nicklaus, Palmer, Trevino, Sneed, Hogan, etc)
Throwback Mode
Vintage golfers, clubs and balls.
Equipment
Shaft, heads, balls that affects ball flight (height, distance and spin, etc).
Retro Equipment - Balata balls, hickory shafts, persimmon heads.
Animations
More of them and more accurate to the shot result.
No fist pumping when 60ft from the hole.
Bend over and pick up the ball after a made putt. Don’t just stand there like a psycho.
Tee Box
Ability to move around in the tee box and position your shot.
Caddies
More caddie customization, or real caddies.
Caddie tips Caddie yardage book
Hold the pin Move the bag out of the way
Pull clubs out of bags
Towel off the ball and clubs
Replays
Needed.
Weather/Time of Day
Dynamic weather and time of day (trees swaying, clouds moving, rain).
Course conditions that change with time of day and weather (this is needed).
Carts/Walking
Would be cool to be able to drive a cart and or walk to your ball.
Range Finder
Ability to use a range finder to pick a target for distance, elevation, etc.
Looks like looking through a range finder in real life.
Lies
More lie percentages variations. They’re too good too often.
Bunkers
No buried lies. There should be.
Sometimes ball is placed outside of bunker because there isn’t a camera angle properly programmed in the game.
Fat Shots/Thin Shots
Should be in the game.
On Screen Display
Ability to turn/toggle off everything for more realism.
Frame-rate 60fps (I know it’s coming)
Driving
Too easy to hit the fairway.
Divots
On green after high shots like 2K.
Putting
More stances, more grips styles, putter lengths, etc.
Lip-outs
Iif not already fixed)
More Swing Type Options
Option for a much faster swing.
Way more swing types and animations.
Shot Types
Different stances for shot types
Sound More driver/putter sounds. “Ooooooooh” sound when a putt is tracking towards the hole.
“Boooooo” when you miss the green on 16 waste management.
Stances
More stances for driving, putting, bunker, flops, fades, draws, etc.
Fans
Fans track and react to ball more/better.
Really good game, could be unmatched with some of these things incorporated.

A PC and a Mouse is how I tried the game. The mouse works through menus but not as a swing-mechanic. I had to use the letter A for striking the ball. Holy cow! If this is advertised to play on a PC the mouse cursor should be used for aiming and striking the ball.
After several rounds of tapping the A key I had enough of the game and got a refund.
EA Devs. Please incorporate a swing mechanic for us mouse users (3-click left mouse button).
