Remove swing meter

this "feature" NEEDS to go bye bye, i have WAY too many shots come up short due an "under swing" (.1%-1.0%+) same for the overswing. and I'm talking FEEEEEET to yards to sometimes missing my target altogether.

it's been broken since day one and hasn't even been looked into....

I would love for EA to definitively tell me how their swing system works. I am with you that I cannot get a full sense of it. I will execute exactly the shot I want distance wise... within +/- 0.1% with a short wedge and the ball will either be 10 yards long or 10 yards short. Other times it will land next to the hole.

Wind is not a factor I don't normally have it enabled in my Private matches. And I adjust for elevation.

I don't know if it is broken... or the fact I don't fully understand the mechanics of it. But I am leaning towards broken... based on what we see in rest of the game.

I actually have a similar issue with 2K occasionally... but 2K allows me to disable the swing result meter. If I don't see it... I feel better because I just assume I made a bad swing. To see the swing results and know I executed a good shot with a poor result is a bit frustrating.

  • I could be mistaken but I have noticed that the swing meter sometimes doesn't match the swing plane. I can stop my swing at about 95% and the swing meter will show the blue fill barely past the halfway point in the meter. This happens much more often in the short game. Don't think they need to get rid of it but give the option to turn it off. I ignore what the results are anyway as it doesn't seem to make any difference on where the ball ends up. I usually play by feel on how hard or soft to swing. I'll admit that I am in the habit of looking at the meter after a shot but if it wasn't there it wouldn't bother me at all.
