RNG/Wind
Until they figure out how to make 1 / 2 mph wind act like what it says instead of 10 /12 mph. My go to golf game is 2k23!
ive said this once and ill say it again, the wind speed is NOT even close to being accurate, a 2mph does not have the power IRL that it has in this game.
ive hit shot after shot with the same conditions same shot 100s of times and the ball goes all over the place even with a 2mph wind, not funny.. then the stronger winds, its even worse
should not have to club up into a 2mph wind let alone a 5 mph wind
ive seen balls go from one side a green to the other due to a 10mph wind and i mean some of the bigger greens (ya know like 40 yards from side to side) aim on one side and watch it land in the rough or whatever on the other side, no draw fade just hitting with the wind
The wind in the game is a joke, that's part of many problems with the game and the reason i stop playing the game.
Me too and I am I am tired of it.

@ragingsaintWind always is accurate for me. If you are coming up short or long on approach shots, make sure your tempo isn't 'fast' or 'slow' because those things will make shots go way shorter or longer than you might expect. If you swing 2.5% fast, the ball goes 2.5% further. The dispersion zone can make wind seem like it has less of an effect on the ball at times, but I've never seen the wind be completely inaccurate.
On arcade mode there is no reason to have tempo effect this big of the shot. IMHO
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I saw a YouTube video that stated wind in the yellow (13 mph and above) is actually read as1 1/2 times what is shown. So 13 mph should be thought of as 19 mph. Which means a 20 mph would be 30. If this is true I don't see why the difference between a 12 and 13 mph wind should actually be 7 mph or why a 20 should be a 30. If you want tropical storm like winds just add another setting.
I empathize with everyone. I have played rounds where the wind carries the ball farther, shorter, left, right more than it should, try to adjust on my next shot and the wind have no affect at all. Combine that with the random dispersion and you get the wind affecting the ball as soon as it comes off the club which is unrealistic. I have had shots turn left or right as soon as I hit it. I also don't believe the wind should affect shots around the green as much as they do on pitches, spinners, etc. Yes the ball gets in the air a little but having a ball moved 3-5 yards sideways doesn't seem correct. The whole idea of playing low to the ground in windy conditions becomes pointless.
This game is truly hit and giggle golf. I have yet to shoot around over par in this game and since day one I have configured it to the hardest settings (except for the green grids, they are enabled). But even on full SIM, I average -5.
Even now playing with a second golfer with no specs or skill points I have yet to shoot over par.
The reason I call it hit and giggle is that I now am pretty convinced you have little control over the ball until you are around the green. So I now hit the ball, find it... hit another shot until I'm on the green or where I can flop or hit a pick shot next to the hole.
I am tired of hitting a ball into a green that has a slight headwind, which is significantly downhill where I aim 10 yards past the pin.... and my swing records a +0.3 and somehow end up more than 10 yards short of the green. Not the hole... but the green.
Or I hit a 5-iron with max loft into a slight headwind and have the ball land barely on the green and then see it roll the length of the green through rough and down a hill. Yet if I hit the same 5-iron just short of the green it will check and sit down on the fairway.
Sometimes a 12 mph crosswind will affect the ball, other times it will just hang out there like a 2 mph wind.
Sometimes I make a perfect swing and the ball goes well left or right of target. Other times I make a really terrible swing and more often than not it goes dead straight down the fairway.
The mechanics of this game is messed up. I find my mind is in a better place if I don't expect my shot input plays as much into a shot as does the games RNG.
