A player should have to club up 1 or 2 clubs, or layup back into the fairway. The “Hack” option and overall percentage loss need to be addressed. It’s too easy smash driver, then just hack onto any green.
Also, eliminate the flop shot as an option around the green. Again if you hit a poor approach, you can just always “flop” to within 5 feet every time.
15 yards and in, no flop option.
I love this game and appreciate the continued commitment. These issues need to be addressed for players like myself looking for a more realistic experience. Thank you.
The lack of rough penalty is my primary complaint with the core function of the game. You don't even need the hack shot if you are 8 iron on in, which means the only time rough ends up every being an issue is a really bad drive on a long par 5. I have 0 points allocated in approach recovery.....and am not even bothered by the rough. I would not prohibit the realistic use of the flop shot though. I use it frequently around the green in RL whenever I have elevation changes or obstacles to navigate. The key is to actually have the rough kill spin/distance/accuracy.
