when the line on the shot is straight most of the time and the ball STILL has a mind of its own, there's a problem, and (EA) has done NOTHING to fix that

Ok please accept my dumbness but I've struggled with shot shaping once I went to the Tour mode, and not even attempted it on sim.
I play using a PS5 and found the vibration when trying to draw, or fade pretty difficult.
Am I meant to use the right control instead?
With a finesse shot, it goes pretty much the direction where it's supposed to go no matter what for me. If I'm using drive or approach shots, it can go anywhere if I overswing and if it's windy, devs at ea must be lmol.
Shot shaping was one great tool to use in the TW Series. I remembered being able to account for wind with shot shaping in TW14. For current game, the shot shaping works well in some courses but sux in other courses like Cardi Creek (aka Wolf Creek) with wind. The RNG is what makes shot shaping more difficult in this game especially at tour/sim levels. Some advanced players from youtube videos are so great in using shot shaping that I could not even keep up. That’s why I miss the TW series.
I don’t see this feature as gimmicky. If the ball had 007’s gadgets like parachutes and rockets, that would be gimmicky. For Cardi Creek with wind, players might need 007’s gadgets to get through the RNG.

I don't use the shaping as I find it gimmicky. It is not how you would do it in real life. I actually have it disabled in my settings.
HOWEVER... if you want to use it, you can still swing naturally. Meaning a straight vertical swing... the shape of your shot will just be opposite of what you would expect. I found I seldom needed to really shape the ball in this game.
