New to the game and still learning, but I've come across a couple of places where I can't change clubs. In one case, it's a down hill par 3 and all I can hit is a driver. I've also noticed that at times the options that are available, don't match what I think are the needed one. Often the default club and swing is far to much for the situation. Just wondering is there still something to learn or is it just time needed to progress to get those options?
Make sure you're not in shot address mode to change clubs and shot types. Shot types are unlocked as you level up your golfer with skill points.
This is something I don't agree with in this game. The menu for shot type is not efficient, it should contain sub menus rather than having you scroll through everything. It also has the DRIVER or 3-IRON depending on how you look at it out of position for a POWER APPROACH.
Also note not all shot types are available if ever in the game, you earn these as you amass and distribute your skill points. In addition not all shot types are available depending on your ball lie.
EA could have made a much better menu and efficient menu system by using sub menus, greying out shot types not enabled yet, and making greying out and making the font red for shot types that are enabled but cannot be used under the current situation.
The sub menus could have been broken down under long shots off the tee, shots types from tee to green, and the short game. Rather than having to scroll through every shot type the way thd current menu system is.
