Swing Mechanics
I have been pretty critical of both golf games in that I thought they could have executed a much better concept than having multiple shot types. That it would probably been easier to program and it w...
Great suggestions regarding stance as the mechanism for controlling shots.
I play tour and find the draw fade mechanic, while adding swing challenge, a bit of an odd choice. 2K showed up in the PS + games, so I started playing that for a bit. I find the tempo somewhat challenging to hit consistently, even w a few practice swings, but still doable. 2K’s draw fade difficulty by narrowing swing plane is just a different way of add some difficulty but not any more relevant. I guess my 2k tempo variance kinda equals the PGA RNG for variability so my shot accuracy is a bit of a wash between them
Not really 100% thrilled w either game, both have some great stuff and some shortcomings. Bugs and other gameplay issues hamper PGA more IMHO
Tempo is the trickiest issue to solve for the pad. A way to practice and tune a swing style is really needed. The 2K swing calibration is not very effective as there is so little feeback and no reset to default
2K will always be a better Sim, it's just not going to happen with EA. Even though the Arcade mode is nowhere what it used to be with the old TW where top players were holing out close to10 times a round, EA is still trying to cater with an Arcade mode where it's possible to hole out several times a round. 2K is not going there.... yet although they have hired the EA Senior Game Designer so who knows what the 2K game will become.
What? Have you seen what can be done on 2K on easy settings compared to easy settings on this game?

Agreed... you can really make 2K easy to play. 2K has catered to a larger user base. But neither game is perfect.
