SWING TEMPO and POWER - HUGE TIPS - PS5

I could not for the life of me get this swing down on the PS5 even on the Slowest settings.  Constantly 2-3% under speed no matter what I did. I did these few things and now it's ridiculously different.   Perfect Speed without really even trying hard.

1.  Reset your DualSense with the little reset hole on the back of the controller.  To the right of where it says SONY.

2.  Go to Settings/Accessories/General/Advanced Settings

3.  Turn Off Bluetooth then follow onscreen instructions. (wire up controller and hit continue)

4.  Now after restart hit PS button and proceed as normal.

Downside is that you now have to power up your PS with Console power button and always be wired.  However, it only takes 5 seconds to turn Bluetooth back on for all other gaming though I don't recommend.  There is definite lag for me wirelessly compared to wired.

NOT DONE YET:  Though I was getting Perfect and Fast speeds way more consistently, but not always.  So try this ridiculous tip.  Many probably already know this, but my dumb arse didn't.  While holding your controller upright as normal, place the tips of the handle on a firm hard surface.    I use my office L-Shaped desk. Swing normally.  I'm now getting perfect lines nearly 100% on normal swing, and nice and easy Perfect speeds.

I just about left the game because I hated it.  Now I'm loving it.  I hope this helps someone as I read how many were having the same issues while others were not.

  •  nice find, thanks but no thanks.

I understand the tv lag, but when you program specifically for a console with a specific controller that uses Bluetooth, you make it work. Other games do

While I'm glad this worked well for you @iglooman__TW  your tip really shouldn't be necessary. I play on PS5 using my controller connected wirelessly and can get fast tempos as well as slows, with the occasional perfect. I'm using the Normal swing tempo. The Slower and Slowest options should help most struggling I'd have thought, and should certainly be tried first. Just possibly there was something wrong with your controller that the reset cleared though. Have you tried it wirelessly again since? You might find it works OK...

I WAS using the Slowest settings lol.  I do think the reset did most of it because it was impossible even on slowest.  I read that many people were having that same issue so thought I'd share what worked for me.  Guessing they might have the same issue because watching others play live getting Perfect and Fast was maddening.  No way they have magical thumbs and I'm over here breaking my controller.

However, when I go back to Bluetooth, the problem rears it's ugly head again, but not as bad as it first was.  I noticed the difference when playing Red Dead Online wirelessly versus wired.  Lag matters there and on any PVP shooting.  My shots are so much better as well with Uncharted games and The Last of Us 1-2 playthroughs.  Also, try a pinball game with any lag.   It's comedy

I'm not sure if lag affects the tempo element, as the speed you move the club for the backswing seems to make no difference? I could be wrong but I get the feeling it's more just a question of how fast the stick is moved forwards, and if it is then the delay to when the movement starts won't make any difference. Where it does make a difference is in registering the power of the shot, where I at least feel I have to react to start the downswing slightly before the club gets to the indicated mark.

I mostly play wirelessly but have played with a wired connection a couple of times when I needed to charge my controller and I can't say I noticed an obvious difference in the lag when I did so. I'm far from the most elite player so I wouldn't rule out a small improvement but it certainly wasn't night and day.

I hope your tip will help some others by the way and I very much welcome you sharing your tip. I just responded as I did before everyone felt this was a necessary step to get the game to work normally, which for most I don't believe it is.

Exactly my thoughts but some how it's helping me so not questioning it.  Also, even though you've plugged in your controller, it's still using Bluetooth unless you turn it off.  Plugging in is only charging until you force it to use the wire by turning Bluetooth off.  Some say they don't see the issue, but things get a lot snappier for me on all my games when Bluetooth is off.  However, there are some that say that wireless has less latency, but who knows.   It just works for me.  I could have some interference in my house from another source possibly, but it works so not asking questions.  lol

    I didn't realise that. Thanks.
