I would rather take a lesser swing on a higher club than a full swing on a shot I don't want to take, i.e. say 157 yards to pins, default 9I wind the face, I would rather club up to an 8I and take less power, the last tiger game I played, it was like that... this under-swing/over-swing is stupid, and I've been saying that since the beginning of this game.....

They should make a game that caters to arcade/casuals and also Simmers like they do in UFC 5. Simmers can get their requests for a simulation experience but does not affect the arcade experience like the following rain cloud in Bugs Bunny. Having more options to turn off/on simmer options would be a good starting point.

If this game wasn't catered to arcade/casual players I doubt that we would all be shooting scores in the 40's and 50's.
I don't think anymore needs to be said. Even at the most difficult settings I can configure in this game I still score under par without much effort.
On its rival. . on the most difficult settings I can configure, under par means I played an outstanding round (and probably a friendly course). The norm would be in the single digits, and double digits are not unusual.

Well 2 of the top lead designers of this game are now working for 2K, maybe they will crank up some RNG to go with tempo to make it a little bit more challenging for PGA 2K25. It should be very interesting to see what PGA 2K25 will look like later this year.

It was, so much the TGC Tour started to play at the Pro mode because both Legend and Master were too hard. 😃
The game is too much easy for the moment and I think that the start of this post was about hitting a 7 iron instead of a 8 iron and doing a 3/4 swing. This is possible. You take your 7 iron and you do an half swing. You don't need to put the arrow at the right place, just hit a golf shot.

I have owned all the games, and I would argue 2K23 is more difficult. If I remember they took a few golf shots out of the game u der certain situations and there is much more roll out as the greens have gotten much faster.
I don't think you can call 2K hard until you turn off all the aids, play on LEGEND swing settings.
All the pundits I see on youtube play on PRO/ MASTER with the reticule and green grids enabled. Also with wind speed, elevation difference and percentage loss enabled. Try playing without it... it is a different game.
I am not saying that this is the right way to play, what I am saying is 2K provided something for everyone. If you want arcade type play... you can turn off all the aids and play with an BEGINNER swing tempo. Or you can go FULL LEGEND with everything disabled at least you have an option.
With EA you get basically a full on ARCADE type experience or at best a game for the CASUAL golf fan to excel at.
I'm not ok with the label of the arcade game for EA. I will not talk about the 2K one because I don't like it at all. For the EA game the fact that it's too easy for good player to score great game doesn't make it an arcade gameplay.
The arcade label seems to tell that the gameplay of the game isn't right. But when I play on sim difficulty withtout any meter, the swing feeling and the way I think of my golf shot are like in real life. Swinging perfect swing are too easy, but the thinking and the mechanics are good.
