I'm sure there's a solution to your problem. I struggled a bit at first with my swing path 6 or 7 years ago when I switched over to Playstation from Xbox. Had a tendency to push slightly right at the top of my swing. To counter this, using right joystick, I rotate my right hand counter clockwise and get the joystick deeper down my thumb, more under the knuckle, holding the controller more 'side on'. I think in terms of the latest EA game, how far you pull the stick back can have an effect on your types of path and tempo, at least for me it does. For example, if I pull the joystick right back to its fullest so it hits the casing (on putting) on the backswing, I always get far better & straighter results. If I only pull the joystick back midway to three-quarters so it doesn't hit the casing, I tend to get a little left hook at the top of my swing. On approach though, it's vice versa but with tempo.
In terms of 3-click, I've put in over 200hrs on the swing stick and I'm finding 3-click currently more enjoyable and challenging with only a 70 overall rated golfer, with 2 points assigned to power, 2 points on driving control, 2 points on approach control, 1 point on short game accuracy, 3 points on short game control and 1 point on putting.
If I don't hit at least 8 under par on the swing stick (sim style gameplay no grids hard) I've had a poor round, on 3-click hard with mentioned stats, breaking par is a good achievement.
I'm sure you'll find a solution to your woes, keep grafting!
- 3 years ago@Par-Jaffa What was just said, is exactly what makes golf games feel like a sport. You have to worry about things like thumb placement on the stick, the speed of and path your thumb takes as you swing, etc... Drives me crazy at times, but that's what i like about it. (laughing)
- 3 years ago@Par-Jaffa Appreciate all of your feedback. Putting is my only real missing piece to the puzzle. I really want to get passed this and jump back into career mode. Tired of not making the cut.

Hi Par-Jaffa,
Until you learn to read the greens, just use the putting line they give you in Arcade or Pro. They already set the distance for you with the marker, which is either set ahead or before the hole, depending on if the putt is uphill or downhill. Pull the marker all the way back to the putting line as far as it can go. Align the marker exactly in the middle of the line. Then push the marker back up to the distance they gave you. Then you make your putt. What matters then usually is just tempo and a smooth strike. I usually kind of push the ball forward with my stroke. You will still get some misses, and you may need to make little adjustments now and then, like if you want to power through putts, you push the maker back further and align it dead center of the hole for example, but for the most part, it is pretty much bang on.
Now, after missing the first two cuts on the Korn Ferry Tour, I finished tied for 8th in the third one, and won the last one I played. If it gets too easy, I'll just keep shoving the AI difficulty up, until it is competitive again. And eventually, I will learn to play without the line, which I am starting to get better at, as I do want to play in career above Pro, and want to keep pushing myself. But until you learn how to read the greens better my friend, I would suggest using the putting line. It saves a lot of frustration and cursing. lol

- 3 years ago@4fcc25d100af738d You know its funny, I was using the putting line with that method. I believe the problem was my timing and pushing the stick too hard causing the wobble in my swing. I have actually improved since then. Thank you for taking the time to explain your process.
