1. Specifically 2005's gameface. DO NOT BRING BACK GAMEFACE INCLUDING VOICE ACTING IF IT IS FROM 2006-2011 THAT WAS THE WORST GAMEFACE YOU COULD'VE USED
2. That just ties into 1.
3. Honestly Pressure Moments you can take advantage of assuming spin is enabled online besides Ranked. Can prevent you from adding unneeded spin or be unaware that your shot is going to be a hole out to get a hole out in comparison to without it. Experienced it plenty on 2004.
For my own recommendations:
1. Bring back 2005's soundtrack.
2. Add Augusta National 1934 with the radio announcer from 14's audio assets to give even more incentive to add against buying 2k23 with optionally a way to play with 1930s clubs if possible. If not we can play on modern clubs just like in 14.
3. All Fantasy Courses from the ps2/Xbox era Tiger woods 2002-2008: Copperhead Canyon, Paradise Cove, Safari CC, Penguin Falls, The Predator, The Highlands, Wallaby Creek, Black Rock Cove, Greek Isles, Central Park, and Emerald Dragon.
Edit: If you want these courses(Exceptions being Penguin Falls, Safari CC, Copperhead Canyon, and The Highlands due to not being in 2005-2006 EA Has to come up with Tiger Tee locations for this), at their absolute hardest bring back Tiger Tees. To avoid Tiger liscensing rename them as painful as that will be.
4. Bring back Country Clubs feature from 14 to combat societies if that is not already planned post launch.
5. To add more replay value since EA has all majors, bring Quick Tournaments from 14 back.
Edit: I cannot imagine they'd have to pull the tee boxes back on these fantasy courses considering they're made from arcade era where you can easily drive carry 350-375+ yards especially on Copperhead Canyon where it has the longest hole in the series at 821 yards from Black Tees. If we factor Tiger Tees that makes courses even longer.
I hope someone from EA is monitoring. A group of us play pretty much sim settings in the game and find what is available lacking. What I an suggesting is not a complete list but what believe would highly improve the playability of the game.
01. Ability to remove the aiming reticule for all modes of play.
02. Have a measurement tool NOT associated with aiming. This so you can still check a distance but must manually eyeball your shot as in real life without the reticule. This will also address an issue in your putting system, this way you can still set the weight/distance of your putt without the aiming reticule. You would use the measurement tool in its place.
03. Have hazard areas shown in overhead map. I have not seen anywhere in the game that defines where OB is.
04. For multiplayer allow the HOST to define GAME as well as USER parameters, along with an option to leave the parameter open for any setting. This will also reduce the need for all the presets that will eventually clutter the menu when additional modes are enabled
05. For multiplayer, if we are not going to have turn based play, provide us an option to toggle between with the existing cameras. And a zoom feature so we can zoom in for a better view of the action.
06. Fix the issue where you cannot save audio settings on the PS5. Do not know if this is console specific.
07. Balls that are ending up against a rock or brick retaining wall are incorrectly showing as entering a water hazard.
08. While your lidar mapping appears to be spectacular, the green speeds seem slow. At tournament settings, balls are stopping on red downhill slopes at Augusta (maybe add another faster setting). Putting also does not seem to roll out as much as they should and the ball appears to stop rather suddenly. Most noticeablely ball reactions don't seem to mimic those seen on tv.
09. A zoom feature for sim players that would let you look about 30-40 yards from the spot of your ball. This will allow you to pick a target when you have hit an errant shot.
10. Access to all shots available to you. Not just what the game thinks you should hit. Change the club selection menu, with a submenu to easier access your shot type (it would mean for less button clicks and quicker access).
11. The ability to remove the swing meter from the game.
12. The ability to remove the range of yardage lost when in a hazard, maybe replace it a visual representation instead.
13. Increase the impact of being in a hazard. Currently being in a hazard usually has little affect on the outcome of a shot.
14. Include glasses/sunglasses as options in the store for purchase. Over 70% of people worldwide wear glasses it is shocking not to see this available in the game for character creation.
15. Not that I would use it... But meters available in the game in place of yards as a unit of measure. Of the 195 countries in the world only 3 are on the imperial system.
- 2 years ago@ELF014 Number 11 removing the swing meter? What do you mean? Reason why I ask is because you can already do this. There are 2 settings - 1 for the actual arc around your golfer showing where to hit 100% that can be turned off and 1 for the swing feedback arc that draws as you backswing that can be turned off. Additionally, the patch today apparently now allows you to remove the putting meter.
- 2 years ago@martbloke I'm referring to the one that shows the swing path, timing and overswing. I am not convinced it always works, and I would rather figure it out on the fly like in real life.
Yesterday I was on hole 11 hitting my approach shot into the green. I pushed it badly to the right and I knew it, it also showed it on the swing path. HOWEVER, the ball went left into the lake. I was already hitting the ball into the short-right quadrant of the green. I was rather vocal about how a ball pushed to the right went as far as it did left into the lake.
If the meter was disabled and I couldn't see my swing path, timing and overswing. I would have been able to accept it was something in the swing. But seeing the meter had me screaming colorful adjectives at my tv.
