This game is petty
The game is so beautiful... but if I had to describe it in one word, I would say, "petty." This game is so petty. It will completely destroy your rounds for no real good reason... I just hit a ball 270 yards and it rolled 340 just so it would go into the rough. No boost. Just almost 100 yards of roll off a tee shot.... every other drive rolls out to like 285.. maybe 295 on a good one.
This game for no reason at all... will jump into the cool cutscene like you just destroyed the ball off the tee... and then it goes 260... 2% under swing.. 3% fast... like why would you do all that cutscene stuff if it's like the shortest drive I've ever hit?!?
Playing in a 4 round major... I'm -4 going into the last round. Birdie the first hole. Bogey the next 2... and hit a water hazard on the 3rd and so I dropped out of the tournament.
Lol you guys put all the gray zones around the ball aimer... like picking shot does anything at all. I hit perfect spinners that stop on a dime... I've hit perfect spinners that roll out 30 feet. There is No consistency to the from what I can tell. It is just going to kind of do whatever it wants. It like shows a line of your follow through and looks like a Z... like nobody in the world swings like that dude. The game purposefully ruins your swings and hits and ball lies to fit like a really weird stat system... where you like buy specs?
Its all strange. I sort of enjoy the challenge and the fact I'm not just birdie and eagle every single hole... but now that I've put some time into the game, I don't really feel like the game lets you get really good at it. It's too petty. Oh I'm sure it's just a random gust of wind or something lol
All my putts are always just a LITTLE bit off huh? Can't seem to get it dialed in their, chief. It's almost like the close I get the further and more obvious the pettiness of the game comes to light. Where you get SO dialed in that you can only notice the way the game just vaguely screws you over on every single shot. It is relentless.
Shot types go from back spinning so much they will leave off the green to not spinning at all what so ever and even rolling forward off the green. The "dispersion" zone.... has always been completely nonsense. The big giant circle of pettiness is what I like to call it... because the game is just gonna put you in the rough or the first cut every other tee shot. None of the shots do what they say... and my favorite of all is the random hits that come up 60 yards shots and go into the water and an absolutely perfect swing. nowhere near the dispersion zones. Out of the fairway. Just completely like screw this guy and his major championship. He's already 12 strokes behind the leader... lets just destroy his round completely... and this game takes a long time to play 18 holes when you're playing the full matches. It's brutal dude. And it is completely petty.
